On the way to a company workshop, we fell into a world of immortal cultivators while still in the car.

Those with spiritual roots and unique abilities were all called to join cultivation sects, living prosperously.

But I, having neither spiritual roots nor special abilities, lived as an ordinary mortal for 50 years, complying with fate until my death.

That’s what I thought.

Until I regressed. Collapse

this is a guess, i also don't remember this, but I assume that a governing immortal is higher than a heavenly venerable. later in the story,
, so I assume that a immortal is higher in cultivation

Up until the current chapter, the MC has had no more than one lover in each regression. Whether this constitutes a harem is up to your interpretation. The current chapter refers to
    .

Edit: Most of the time, the MC has no lover, and only in a few regressions does he have one lover. The reasons why this happened are complex and cannot be explained without spoiling.

A Xianxia novel written by a Korean author and what I'd consider a pretty interesting take on the genre. Here you see a cultivation world viewed through the eyes of a normal dude and how insanely crazy all its inhabitants really are from an outsiders perspective. Of course, as time goes on, the MC gets used to it as he must, but he still holds on to his core beliefs, or at the very least tries to.

Personally, I think this is a very good novel. One thing that people who only read CN webnovels might not be used to is that the MC here is an emotional person; in other words, he's written like an actual human. There will be several points where the MC takes a path based on his feelings rather than because it's the most statistically optimal path for his development. Personally, I prefer it over the usual carboard cutout copy-and-paste MC's we get, who casually grind away hundreds of years with no problem, but I can also understand people who just want to read a simple power fantasy where MC gets OP from chapter 1 and never loses a battle while being cold and stoic, but this isn't that. A lot of plot points will appear where the MC gets his ass handed to him or has no choice but to accept his fate and hope he can solve it in a future regression due to his unfortunate lack of talent, but he never gives up, although sometimes the relentless traumatic events get him pretty close to doing so. Nonetheless, I think it's a fun read, so if the above points sound fine to you, go ahead.

This is also a pretty character-driven novel. A lot of other Xianxia novels will solely focus on the MC's power progression or the action, and while this novel definitely focuses on a lot of that, it also makes sure there's time for the various characters and people the MC meets and forms relationships with to have their moment in the spotlight, which is something I feel a lot of Xianxia webnovels don't do, where they often have the character get thrown to the wayside and completely forgotten the second the plot no longer requires them for its progression. Hell, I've read too many webnovels where they don't even bother to give the MC's family proper names other than "dad," "mom," and "sister." There's also an overarching mystery about why and how the MC and his co-workers got transported into the cultivation world with some interesting kind of eldritch horror undertones, so that's pretty cool too. That's all I got; hopefully that's enough for anybody interested in checking this out to make a decision.

My problem is not that MC might not take the most optimal route based on feeling or some such nonsensical reason the Author might throw out at the last minute. But the fact that even when MC is successful in whatever he's doing he manages to be his own worst enemy. His indecisiveness and sheer lack of common f#cking sense is the problem not the emotions. Emotions are fine but when you describe Mc spending decades planning for something to just at the last minute go like eh f#cking it I'm not going through with it because he can't bear to hurt people he has passing knowledge off that's what's pissing me off. He claims to be mad. Which is true. But his madness is one that can' be described simply. He's too dumb for his own good, the author managed to turn him by chapter 300 into a Mary Sue so to manage him you have to throw bullshit after bullshit at him to pad the word count. Legit the only reason the progress is slow is because MC is retarded. There's no other explanation that makes sense sorry.

Not to mention translation that degrades to slightly better & more coherent than mtl by 305. Shame too, this novel is far better than the translation makes it out to be.

The world building is superb & the sense of mystery it evokes is rarely replicated in other works.

This novel is almost! Almost 10/10!
This has to be the best executed Xinxia to date! And Trust me... I have read ALL! imbest The only thing that rivals this in my humble opinion is Oh My God! Earthlings are Insane! . However, like OMGEAI, some story arcs do drag it down a little. Though, those arcs are promptly followed by a super emotional and hype arc. Overall, I really really really enjoy and love this novel, it is currently my top 3! 26 I have been binging it for 3 days without sleep and have finally caught up and I enjoyed every moment!
    Overall 9.5/10.

This is one of the best novels i've ever read. I absolutely recommend this. Don't let the title or the cover fool you into thinking it's like all the other novels with a similar concept; It's not. It's better.

    Not bad.
Sometimes you feel: why the f#ck is he doing this? Why doesn't he use that power? Why the he'll are you sticking to this poisonous mother f#cker of a snake, and then complaining.

The side character: noice, some are really well developed. One of them will give you chill in the spine.

Every death is the culmination of all that has happened in that life.
