In a world dotted with World Entrances to a demon world, demons have invaded humans for centuries. Humanity has united and one of the most ancient sects in the world, the Archean Mountain Sect, has set up an entire education system in the form of Dao Academies and defenses at the World Entrances.

Meng Chuan, a young genius, is an expert at the swift saber. Despite his noble heritage, he has one goal—kill all demons. Scarred by demons because of how his mother sacrificed her life for him, he strives to enter Archean Mountain Sect to get the best resources and training.

Other than cultivation, his only pleasure is drawing. And as he draws, he becomes stronger…
Enjoy this blood-pumping piece of art in Meng Chuan’s journey to slay demons with the help of united human comrades. Collapse

I've had this in my "Reading Now" folder since forever and I only just finished it now. It's pretty enjoyable. I really enjoyed the arc with the demon war. Imo tho, the story started slowing down after he went into the outer realm.
    Anyways, it's a good novel.

    Extremely good story 9/10.
Only complaint is how he didn't reach the highest realm. Hope there's a part 2.

    Very beautiful story.
Read some spoilers and thought that ending would dissapoint me, but it was good. The only sad thing - he never showed his paintings to others(not including his wife), but I suppose it's something really personal, so it's fine. welldone

Viewed only Era and this book from IET, but both of them gave me wonderful experiences. First was more... tragic? And this one - wholesome. monk

9-9.5, but just because I didn't get that feeling... when you know - it's peak reading experience. (or something like that) oru2x hokage

This novel is a good example of pure cultivation with little to no bs in midst of the MC's journey. We have a mortal-like start, with far more clear emotions and exciting developments; an exploration part, where the MC and the reader learn more about the novel's work; and finally... the final powerhouse part, where the MC slowly ascends to the top of the universe.

Is a great novel if you like to see how things develop without too many side-events sprouting all over the novel. On another side, the novel loses a few of its colors after entering the exploration part since the MC focuses more on cultivating than going around picking fights and exploring ruins and even when those events occur, is more quickly resolved or explained since at their levels, is more of an "I can" or "I can't"; so, no friendship power, only time-skips. Lots of time-skip, actually XD

Honestly, all IET novels are B-rank. Very suitable for novice readers.

Well is there an S-rank in your ranking system? If so I think at least a few of IET’s novels deserve an A-rank, I almost never re-read novels that I’ve already finished, only some that I’ve dropped do I try reading again, but I’ve read swallowed star, desolate era, and Lord Xue Ying twice yet I still enjoy them. In my opinion they deserve at least an A-rank and even veteran readers can enjoy them.

It’s just a matter of personal opinion. No matter how well written a story is and how detailed it is, if I don’t like it then it’s not an A rank for me.

This whole novel is a huge war arc. It becomes boring quickly. The initial chapters are very good. The translation is excellent. But after the initial arcs it becomes very repetitive. MC going somewhere, killing demons, leveling up, repeat. The side characters keep changing and are not well developed.
