Quite a good novel so far. Short overview:

Finally putting down that novel feels like saying goodbye to an old buddy. The story, with its awesome, moving, and sometimes seriously tear-jerking plot, has been right there with me through all the feels. It's not just the characters wrapping up their adventures; it's like closing a chapter in my own reading history. The twists and turns in the tale have left a mark, and there's this mix of happy and sad vibes hitting me as I hit the last lines. Now, it's time to let the awesomeness of this journey sink in, soaking up the satisfaction of diving into such a damn good and lasting literary ride... I'm going to miss them; it's one of the best novels I've ever read.

What a journey... I am also reading manhua of this, so the end was so impactful for me. I will probably cry in the end of manhua.

It has a similar vibe to Trafford’s Trading Club. Also highly recommend.

if you can't make the decision to read, afraid of the 'bad ending' like some comments stated, and just overall worried, this is your sign to start

the story end with no unfinished business. there's a couple of unexplained matters, but nothing big to the overall stories, so it won't magically crush all your experiences reading at the last leg of the journey. honestly just needs one or two chapters of epilogue and it'd be gucci, but without them the story is still complete and end well

main idea of the story is 'misunderstanding', pretty much the same as Overlord. so, i reckon it'd easy for those who read that already, but probably not so for some who haven't, you don't see this kinda plot often afterall. but here's the catch, with you reading my review and know what to expect, i hope you'd allow yourself to unstuck yourself and stop harping on this matter, instead enjoy the ride and see how it all progresses

whenever you find yourself finds something absurd or baffling, remember this: there's a good explanation for that. and because the explanation is "might" be one and the same for all of them, without getting near the end, you probably f#cked haha

by the way, if you haven't read Overlord, what the f#cks wrong with you? go read it, goddamit

It was okay, especially since I came from My House of Horrors (top tier) that a mindless slice of life comedy was pretty good to wash away my awkwardness each time I see a mirror.

So this is a one gimmick work, the "comedy" here is based on the misunderstanding between the MC and the cast and in this case, the misunderstanding (to a point) is understandable because the books the MC reads transforms into something else when given to the customers that visit his bookstore.

There would be times when the MC would handle something big like a fight but he would be conveniently dreaming all the time, all the damned time! So he's never aware of all the abnormal things he does or encounters. But fine, the author wants to stretch the gimmick out (I'm at c257).

But I had to drop this since at one point he started selling something else other than books and let's just say it's very unhygienic and the misunderstanding can't be explained anymore and so now it's the "author's will" instead of the "MC's will" or "the story's narrative/plot". Now it's just the author writing whatever he wants. And there's usually a "rule of cool" where sometimes, things don't have to make complete sense as long as the story delivers cool shit, or fun shit, or if the atmosphere at that moment becomes perfect if you just stretch things a bit. But this story (that part specifically to be fair) isn't funny, it wasn't cool, it wasn't atmospheric. So to me it was just a glaring example of incompetence since it made no sense.

Minor spoiler about the specific part that made me drop it

This novel has a manhua adaptation now. It's up to around 90 as of writing.

I get now why all my predecessor readers here said the ending is disappointing. Cause it truly is. Really enjoyed the story but the couple of chapters towards the end made me go "Huh?" It was so rushed. Anyways, I won't complain about the ending too much cause it's still better than the ending of My Disciples Are All Villains 😅😂

Summary, fun read but prepare your mind for a lackluster ending.

I don’t know how I should feel about this one. In my eyes a good novel with a bad ending will leave a bad last impression for a long time, but I enjoyed the ride at least.
