In the depths of a newborn universe, a cultivator takes advantage of the abundant energy to refine himself a treasure. But after 14 billion years of refining and quite a few more to go, he decides to entertain himself by releasing countless systems and watching how the creatures of this fledgling universe handle them.

On Earth, a young man, lost and confused about what to do with his life, sits in a park and looks up at the night sky. A shooting star, a wish and a bang. When the boy finally wakes up he hears a sound, "assimilation complete. Launching System. Welcome to the Midnight Inn. Host Designation: The Innkeeper." Collapse

Recommend me some novels, something a little similar to this would be good, I can hardly find good American/English novels, and I'm fed up with Chinese novels, do you have any tips? specifically one in which the character's personality evolves over the course of the work

I don't know how to use the spoiler tag

In the end, one of the best works I've read, if it continues as it is it will have at least 1 thousand more chapters, and I hope the author doesn't end it abruptly.

    The good:
The quality of writing (Grammar, spelling, and overall use of language) is excellent. The humor can be pretty good. There is a huge cast of interesting characters, all of which feel unique. The world building is nothing revolutionary, but solid and well thought out.

    The Neutral:
Story is 35% slice of life, 35% "Inn/kingdom building", 20% cultivation, 10% adventure. The chapters are jam packed with pop culture references and fourth wall breaks.

    The bad:
The MC is my least favorite part about the novel. He's incompetent, stupid, and worst of all, uninteresting. The author introduces a great deal of interesting, funny and quirky characters. Multiple intersecting plotlines and mysteries to solve. But none of it really gets a chance to shine. Everything is too spread out and there's just too much going on for me to care about any of it.

    Personal enjoyment level: 3,2/5

I read close to 300 chapters then finally quit. Story was branching out in so many directions and turtle like pace. Mcs is still first realm power.

Not something which I eagerly await, but also not boring. The writing is good, the world building is not that bad. I do not care about anyone else other than the MC, so other characters development does not matter to me that much.

I like pile up at least 30 chapters, before reading.

The only problem I have with novel like these is, that there are too many characters, I always forget who is who.

These types of novel should come with character wikia.

A good read over the weekend.

    Expectation: mortal got super opportunity.
Reality: Ignorant MC with a big family background.

Poor kid with Lamborghini vs Rich kid with Lamborghini. which one more interesting? somehow author think the later more interesting....

Just imagine, for what moron shake his family need to keep it a secret from him, but not to his other siblings. Maybe the author will drop some crazy reason later, but I no longer care.
    I am done here

I get your point but the mc has no knowledge of his family's background in regards to cultivation. He doesn't even live with his family and thinks that they are just mortal archeologists.

come on man, MC should have live with them at least when he was a child right.

Imagine yourself as an older brother in 3 siblings. Your parent and your siblings know that we are rich as hell.
somehow you think you are poor because you move out of your house in your teen? In no f#cking hell that realistic.

Well it's another story If you have autism.

To not really spoil anything important I'll be vague. His family has kept him away from the cultivation world because they believe he would not live long as a cultivator because of certain family situations. As far as the mc knows his family are just mortal archeologists with no knowledge of anything cultivation related till around the second quarter of the about 800 avaliable chapters atm.

Other than that he has a normal family relationship for the first few 100 chapters of the book then starts to keep his distance for reasons i won't mention.
