    I really like the idea of this story. The one thing about this story that I don't like and ends up ruining the rest of the story for me is the harem. The harem has gotten so large that by the time I stopped reading there were over a dozen different women having sexual relations with the MC. I'm fine with both romance/no romance or harem/non-harem novels but when it gets to the point where you can't even remember the names of all the love interests, it gets really confusing. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

    If somebody knows of a novel similar to this but without this problem and could recommend it to me down below, I would really appreciate that.

        Are you stupid? He never said he didn't like harem. He said he doesn't like when you can't keep track of the love interest because the harem is to big. You don't even have the reading levels of a 5th grader.

    I feel like the kingdom building aspect, got taken to lightly in this novel.
    What I mean by that is, the way it feels like the mc is never fully invested in building his empire even though he is so obsessed with becoming an emperor … we know that he built his base in the empty hotel he found or claimed through the system and later built other high buildings around it with the system plus a wall around the city…

    He never sits down and talks about his future plans with his followers, never plans out the infrastructure of his empire alway leaving that to other people…
    The were multiple situations when mc came back from running around all over the place, an his subordinates didn’t recognized him and attacked him.
    And then he wonders and is mad when people are not loyal to him…

    He gets betrayed multiple times and people Rebell multiple times. That should show that he is a bad emperor… he is more of a warlord and tyrant.

    The worst part In my opinion that really made me mad is that he only puts his harem members in important positions… prime minister=one of his girls, finance minister= one of his girls, grand marshal/general = one of his girls and so on … when a woman with high level and power shows up you can already predict she will become one of his harem members and later, take over an important position. Plus every harem member fits to a certain role that needs to be filled


    Im probably this mad because I thought I found a nice novel that checks multiple points : many chapter, nice system( I liked it), no typical Chinese nationalism, mc that doesn’t use a sword or spear, doesn’t tries to be a melee fighter and magican/wizard, kingdom building, op mc and so on …

    In general i would still say this is a good novel even though I gave it so much critic.

    I have read a lot of novels but never read a novel where the mc is such a delusional idiot. Just read this:

    Tang Shaoyang let out a sigh. Yes, he regarded the people who lived in Youyouliucun District as his people while he was the head of the people here. That was why he treated them kindly and helped them a lot.

    Tang Shaoyang regarded this Youyouliucun District as his territory while he was the lord of this territory. He also regarded the protection fee the people gave him as tax, not protection fee. The people paid their taxes to their lord, it was a natural matter.


    He is literally is a gangster that thinks he is a lord.... his role in his organization is to be the madmen that runs into 100 people and does not care about his life like he on a constant adrenaline rush. While his boss hopes he dies because he keeps finding it weird that the mc does not want a higher role in his organization and because he is such a moron he finds it an unstable factor.

    I compare him to the guy from game of thrones that keeps having to carry the future king.

    I was literally in a state of belief that this is the novel i quit the fastest XD.

      Yeah it is quite dumb, anyhow Author was just trying to show us a character who is uneducated and dumb. Then again when the world ending comes for some reason he gets smart awfully fast. I did not even remember this bit on later chapters, so now reading it I was like right the MC was supposed to be a dumb uneducated dude, what went wrong ? how did he suddenly become super smart genius ?

          Decided to drop this at around 1000 chapters, Not sure if the story quality dropped or it was alot of the things coming together.

          In anycase, main reason for dropping is that author first made a mistake with one of the story plots and then decided to now fix this plot issue by tearing it open again and then just using a dull knife on it.

          What I mean is that the whole story around 1000 chapters is a mess, its like some amateur cook trying to make some food in kitchen first time, you walk in and all you see is cake batter on the ceiling, flour on the floor, and whatever strange things on the walls. A mess. Up until that point the story was actually quite good and well structured.


          This was my latest review. Up until that point it was an ok read.
