In her previous life, Zhang Yansheng wasted her life because of her scumbag father and stepmother—smoking, drinking, getting tattoos, and drag racing. Reborn back to high school, Yansheng, a rebellious girl, looks at the luxurious mansion and million-dollar cars at home… What’s with being rebellious? Isn’t it better to inherit the family business instead?

Yansheng is now determined to study hard and be a qualified heir of the family.

What about the stepmother and half-brother who are actually devils? What she wasn’t able to do in her previous life was to win the fight. So, Yansheng puts an end to her bad demeanor and follows the right path this time.

Scumbag Father: I will listen to Yanyan!

Half-brother: Sister, I won’t dare!

Half-sister: My sister is the prettiest in the entire universe!

Grandmother: Yanyan is the heir of the family!

The stepmother, with her precious son, cries bitterly, “The eldest child is obviously a daughter, so why will she inherit the family’s property? I gave birth to a son!”

Everyone says that the prince of the Yue family, Yue Song, is a cold-hearted person, cold as winter. Until that day, someone has seen his gentleness to Yansheng, gentle as water. “I want to talk to you about marriage between heirs of powerful families.” Collapse

Só não digo que essa obra é perfeita porque sou muito fanboy de magia.
Mas falando sério, esse romance deixa um ar de satisfaçao quando você termina de ler. Uma sensação como de terminar um quebra cabeça.

    [Review: Complete Novel]

    [Genre:] [Modern Slice-of-Life]
[Major Tags:] [Female Protagonist] / [Family Dynamics] / [Upper Society]
[Minor Tags:] [Reincarnation] / [School Life] / [Power Struggles] / [Romance] / [Revenge]

    [Summary:]

This story is about a female protagonist given a reincarnated second-chance.
Despite its tons of needless tags, the story focus on the MC's personal life, and how she manage to reverse her past-tragic destiny, and redefine her current path. Though it does possess Romance and Business Management, it is not a Romance or Business Management oriented story. If I have to Label this, I'd classify it more as a Psychological and Modern [Slice-of-Life], mostly centered on Family Dynamics.

    [Setting:]

The story focused around the MC's personal life, thus most of the story is modern-based China, and surrounds her school, family, work, and personal travel. Though the universe is not vast, it is clearly defined and vividly described.

    [Plot:]

This is a peculiar (most light-novels aren't like this) no-nonsense, concise and un-confusing plotting. Another note-worthy thing to say is that there aren't any useless elements in this story, and despite its short length, the ensemble is particularly harmonious and well executed.

    [Characterization:]

All characters are well-portrayed, even hateful ones (such as: the step-mother) are very realistically defined, and some others, very endearing.

    [Writing Style:]

The author (female, I assume) has a refined yet expedient taste, and possess an impressive balance for interpersonal interactions between characters. Her flow of the story is smooth, and I do not recall any awkward or cringing moments.

    [Tone:]

For a C-LN (chinese light-novel), it is worth to mention that the Tone of this story is very… tasteful. The author had managed to subtly letting readers know of her preference, while the story never seemed preachy nor brainwashed.

    [Mood:]

This story is sometimes cute, sometimes funny, and sometimes dark; yet the overall is very consistent throughout the entire novel.

    [Strongest Points:]

    - No-nonsense. The story is short but clear, and capture a part of the Upper-Society Modern China in a vivid and entertaining way.

    - Objective Tone. For a C-LN (chinese light-novel), the story is really objective and realistically portrayed, and possess no over-exaggerations typical of most C-LNs. The point-of-view is often relevant, and unbiased.

    - Characterization. Some characters are wonderfully and realistically portrayed. (Ex: MC's Step-Mother, Father, Step-Sister, Little Brother, Grand-Mother, etc.)

    - Refined interpersonal dynamics. This novel is very tasteful in its conversations, and on-point in its interactions. There are no times (that I remembered) where one would find this cringing or wayward.

    - Ending. It is quite rare to find a light-novel which is throughoutly coherent, while still possessed a satisfactory and suitable ending.

    - Short but concise. I rarely seen a light-novel so well-cut, that I can't even remember if there was some needless parts.

    - Depth. This novel is far from insipid, and possess its unique flavor and personal touch. In my personal opinion, it has the potential to be dramatized for TV platforms.

    - Realistic and educative. The story is realistic, and sometimes possesses a brutal capture of: the chinese upper society, family dynamics, and interpersonal relationships.

    [Weak Points:]

    - Overly perfect MC. Funny to say, while I did appreciate the MC for who she was, she did not endear me as much as some other characters. Why? Because she was simply just too solid. No nonsense. Never hesitate much. She was always hard-working, focused, and just too overall perfect.

    - Citations. Not sure whose faults, but the numerous detailed Citations of those Chinese Quotes —right in the mid of the story— was simply overly disruptive for me, as a reader. I would have prefer to have those —at the bottom page— in order to not interrupt the flow of the story, no matter how interesting it was. (They were, in fact, very interesting; just simply too intermittent.)

    [Conclusion:]

    - For any light-novel writers, this is a Must-Read. It would not only inspire on how to portray some characters tastefully, or how to describe some psychological family conflicts and struggles; but it also allows one to see what a refined style of writing is.

    - For any reader, this is a don't-read-at-your-own-loss. This clear-cut little universe of upper society and family dynamics is very fascinating, educative, and enlightening.

    [Verdict:]

I am neither a Romance-centric nor Female Protagonist-oriented, however, this is absolutely one of the best-read I've ever had for light-novels of those kinds. It's a short and quick-read, and could be recommended for almost everyone.

[PS:] In the chinese mountain-dumps of light-novels, (Where fake-nationalism is everywhere, super-trashable MCs dominate the world, the universe, or the whole novel; or unrealistically rich-and-insipid young masters killing left-and-right, f--king up-and-down) this one, is particularly refreshing; and allowed me to realize that: true, while many chinese writers sprout tons of unsalvageable cabbages... there are still a few recommendable ones, like this author, who wrote delightful novels, which could make its readers enjoy, without tarnishing its own country.
And If someone knows other works of the same author, please do recommend it to me.

Best romance novel I have read here. The profundity of this novel outclasses all others, with the only downside being the translators' devotion to in-text citations for Chinese allusions. Reincarnated face-slapping novels seem like roadside garbage in comparison to this.

If you liked this author's writing style, then I highly recommend reading other books by this author, especially The Queen's Gigolo, the depth of the characters, the plot, and just a whole bomb of emotions, it's just a whole level higher than all the books I've read.

An actually good concise and short read. As the novel I read previously before this one just skips a lot of info and then it just ended I was left very unsatisfied.

You can actually finish this for a short time - you will know if you like it att he beginning chapters so if you decide that its not for you? Then dont bother reading till the end.

With regards to relationships(family) - its very well explained and you can see their growth. With the male lead I really didn't get that emotional attachment since everything was fast paced with the MC, I got more of that with Xue Lichen.

I liked this. No dragging storyline or unnecessary face-slapping. Simple, clean and straightforward. Revenge was swift and complete, character growth was visible and logical, romance was just the right amount. Very lovely pace overall.

Loved that the female lead was decisive and forthright with her feelings. She made everything clear no matter who she faced and accepted the consequences, good or bad. She's very clear and upfront about her likes and dislikes within reason AND she doesn't let her emotions cloud her judgement.
I loved that her skills were in-line with her previous life. She doesn't suddenly become a genius, or a huge hidden boss, or hacker, or even a well-rounded know-it-all. We can see her struggle with homework and slowly persevere to where she is now. It was refreshing to see that.
Romance is subtle and she doesn't suddenly change her thoughts and choices to accommodate the ml and he doesn't pressure her or manipulate her either. They discuss together, understand each other's perspective and make a decision.
The adults don't brownbeat them into submission but respect their choices as long as they are reasonable and they have considered it carefully.

4.5/5 (only because I don't like how they didn't wait till she was of legal to start dating.
    )

    Definitely recommend to read this.

Just a heads up, ch139 is missing so you'll have to find it on another site to read it
