Honestly the story is quite bad IMO, it started off quite good to be honest however it soon went downhill.

The first one hundred chapters are the best of this novel to be honest, we get to see MC slowly progress and help advance his own civilization and we also get to see him make rational moves.

It gets kind of iffy at the start when one of his subordinates goes against his orders and he warns them not to but they do it again.
MC also had a romance in the start with a small harem but it just completely disappeared tbh, there's been time skips of multiple years so you can't really track the romance, it just jumps from one level to the other.
We have quite a few people who just go against MC for no reason over and over, we also had some dumbasses that wanted to keep 'seniors' in prominent positions in the army even though they were worse than regular recruits.

Afterward, we get a random girl being introduced when they're heading off to war and all of a sudden the girl takes a liking to one of the boys and demands to be transferred to the same unit as him, which is already pretty stupid considering they're literally in the middle of a war and right after that she comes in and challenges MC (The highest commander present which could be classified as insubordination imo) after she gets her ass beat she acts like MC did well by gaining her approval when she was the one that requested to join under him.

She then goes on battles and wants to allow the enemies to resist and fight back because she doesn't enjoy it otherwise, bear in mind that this just produces more casualties to the humans even when they're lacking in population.

We also see the MC less and less, we just see him once or twice and then he fades into the background.


If you're going to read this I recommend only reading around 110 chapters since it becomes worse after that.

this is an interesting story where the world doesn't just revolve around MC.........
A good reading experience except for realism of character that is too low sometimes......most of the time this is good fiction novel

Could not keep reading there was no struggle at all and the relationships were all well not done well and him constantly getting Tech all the time took away from the possible story
For someone who can work past all that it's possibly a good story for them

I've only read up to ch.189 so far, but I want to get this out there.

After chapter ~100+ it sort of becomes mostly an army building/nation-building story with no real main character, It's not exactly bad, but since the first ~100 chapters really get you hyped with the supposed MC and his system it's really jarring to just constantly read about the actions of other people and the government.

Personally I'm guessing the System was mainly used by the author as an easy means to justify humanity experiencing a technological leap, the system is completely forgotten/useless after it achieves its literary purpose of giving the humans a chance, it's not even brought up by the MC at all.

The MC sort of feels like an on/off character for the story after the first 100 chapters or so, the story seems to shift its focus to him when reaching the critical point in the plot and then shift focus elsewhere after that point has passed to build up the next arc.

Romance is basically non-existent after a while. For those who are interested in R-18 or NSFW chapters, there is only 1 translated as of now. .

The Battles are ok, I'm not a war expert or anything so I can enjoy the "tactics" but I honestly don't know if they are actually any good or not. Admittedly in the beginning there is a lot more apparent diversity in the fighting vs. the later battles IMO.

The translation quality is good, I didn't really not any obvious errors and for once the distances don't yo-yo between absurd amounts. (100 doesn't suddenly become 100,000,000 or the other way around).

Overall I would still recommend it, even with its flaws.

I'm 10 chapters in and it seems like the content is rather more juvenile and intellectually shallow. Does this change at all? Or is it shounen through and through?

I read it in MTLnovel, and, bruh....after Human Federation entered level 7 civilization, the system was completely forgotten. Even when I read up to chapter 1000's, the system never reappeared. At this rate I really miss system conversations with Lin Fan, lol.
