Qin Huai crossed into the mysterious fantasy world where demons were rampant and heroes were rising. He had no background or cultivation qualifications until the day he became a medicine store apprentice and started to cultivate with his fellow apprentices.

He found that the experience orbs actually fell out of his master and brothers.

He learned to grind medicine with his brothers.

"Ding! 'Medicine Art' Experience+3!"

His Master and brothers practiced martial arts.

"Ding! You picked up an 'Essence of Qi Cultivation (White)', 'Qi Cultivation' experience +3!"

He killed the bandits in the mountains and picked up their cultivation.

"Ding! 'Astringent Breath Technique' experience +13!"

His master said that the technique was not good at attacking, had a cultivation limit, and could only prolong life.

But when Qin Huai picked up the experience until the Astringent Breath Technique was 50 times stronger, his body took a tremendous change. A gentle push of his hand was like a wave. He could now both attack and defend.

People said that when two kinds of cultivation methods clashed, continuing to cultivate would lead to the death of the cultivator.

However, when Qin Huai picked up experience and directly skipped the cultivation process, he found there were no side effects at all!

When Qin Huai practiced more and more cultivation methods, he suddenly found that those methods interacted with each other in his body and became stronger skills.

...

Qin Huai, who could pick up experience, began to wander among the major powers.

He saw flesh growing from white bones and the dead revived.

He saw demons cooking 10,000 people and exuding extremely evil energy.

He saw the Buddha statue chanting in the temple. Sanskrit sounded like a mantra.

Qin Huai silently picked up experience in order to settle down in the chaotic world. Collapse

This has one of the most insane settings I've ever seen. One of my biggest annoyances is world building that makes no sense. This is the truest essence of that you'll see. The author wanted to write the edgiest, darkest nonsense they could imagine, but trash like this should be left in their imagination.

Almost everybody in the novel is super, over the top evil. You have a sect that eats people, and not just a few people. They'll eat entire cities on a daily basis. This makes the cannibal sect mutate into weird monsters. It seems like the sect is something people wouldn't want anything to do with, but like 99% of people are insanely excited to join this sect. Seriously, the pure glee in their comments about eating baby heads and arms and whatever is just nuts. And those are like random farmers and shopkeeps and so on, not people you would expect to celebrate at the thought of killing and eating their neighbors. The sect recruits new members like crazy, each of whom eats tons and tons of people.

And they never run out of people. No matter how many cities and countries are 100% genocided, there are still infinite people left to eat, even in those genocided areas. How does that math work? And that's not even mentioning how murder-crazy all the non-cannibal cultivators are.

Worlds like this can't exist. Writing them is just dumb.

There are other annoyances like the pacing, where some random, uninteresting combat sequences can last for dozens of chapters. The stupidly long combat sequences that mostly don't even involve MC are what finally got me to quit reading. I read/skipped through almost 500 chapters of this trash, which I regret.

It really did start off well, though. The first chunk of the story was good. Just skip out when MC leaves his starting city. The story drops off massively at that point. The whole attribute drop idea is especially shitty after that, since it doesn't scale well at all as his level progresses.

6.5/10 its enjoyable for about 150 chapters then it become stale.
theres a lot of problems with either translator or the author logic with stuff like:
there is some sort of xp counter to lvl up the main cultivation stage but it isnt shown or there isnt one and the main stage lvl up based on his techniques lvl but not really, maybe I forgot something and that confused me.
one technique supposed to burn lifespan to be used (mc even got lifespan counter) but it doesnt use lifespan to use or at least it was never explicietly mentioned, maybe the number dropped down and I didnt notice but I doubt it.
the translation is awfull. names and genders are often mistaken and stuff like:
xia ming said to xia ming "hey wo long what you doing today" she wo long respended after he contemplated for a while.
    from the good stuff:
    his master doesnt feel useless
not every young master is straight up young master
the "rival" from another sect may actually come back later and actually keep up with mc
the power combinations are somewhat creative

Edit 1: At Chapter 265 now.
Edit 2: At Chapter 305 now and definetly dropping it.
Original review below written around Chap 178.

As you read more you definetly notice more issues with the translation and a few chapters are just really confusingly translated where you can't really tell what just happened.

As for the story itself, it seems to just be MC going from situation to situation where he has tons of enemies. Both internally and externally. As soon as he resolves things and has support, it is very quickly taken away so he can go to a new place and recieve even more enemies.

It just seems like he's being forced into having CONSTANT enemies. He has experimented and learnt that the better impression people have of him, the more attributes they drop, but it seems author is determined to never let MC be in a position where he has allies or people who support him for very long before they all get taken away. In terms of maximising his cheat, its clear that for him harvesting leeks is the best way forward, which makes this constant increase in enemies coupled with the loss of allies really annoying.

The good parts is definetly his relationship with his Master and later Grandmaster. They are all people who have no scruples when it comes to fighting others and like to use sneak attacks, poisons, aphrodisiacs, forbidden techniques and the like. The relationship between MC and each of them is really nice and positive, which is nice to read.

    Edit 1:

    Edit 2:

As well as that idiocy, the translation quality is just getting worse and worse. There are more and more chapters where you can't understand what tf is happening and parts where things seem wrong or missed out. Any numbers when it comes to his loot or progress seem to be all over the place as well.

Imo don't bother with this one. You'll just end up getting annoyed with the translation/story as well as how much time you put into it.

    1.5/5 rating

I had good expectations after reading Complete Martial Arts Attributes because that is a 4/5. The story starts with him being useless. He gets into a medicine shop because he is literate. Then starts picking up attributes. He goes from picking up Type A to picking up Type B and he never uses Type A again. Then he gets rejected from every school because his talent is bad so he goes to a school where his Type B is the prequel of Type C attribute so his type B attribute merges with Type C.... and then that is it. He literally picks up a few other cultivation attributes but it has almost no impact. So basically his attributes he picks up make up his lack of talent but does nothing else.

The characters are less than 1 dimensional. The story has no suspense. There is no wow moment.... there is nothing.

    The power system is trash.

    The world building is trash.

    The novel is trash.

The only reason i am giving a 1.5/5 is that the grammar and spelling was decent.
