Came across this simply because I was rereading some of the works that had gotten me into reading translated Chinese stories years back. As there aren't too many comments here I'll just mention that this is definitely a classic that is worth reading. Spanning modern day to another time and space, it is the standard of a high martial arts novel with some cultivation sprinkled in liberally without forgetting its martial arts root. Overall it is a good read that anyone who enjoys martial arts or cultivation novels should read at least once.

Hmm. I haven't really read it on this site in depth, but so far it looks translated alright, much better compared to the mtl I had to read back when it first came out for the later chapters. So that I can't say for sure, particularly since it seems this site doesn't have the last several chapters.

Heh, yes, translation has come far. This is the kind of thing I had to read https://lnmtl.com/chapter/the-nine-cauldrons-book-1-chapter-2 Only, worse at the time, this was the exact site I was reading on to get ahead of what was currently translated and thankfully they haven't improved their translation quality by much since. Though it definitely has improved as my refined mtl Dao can automatically form it into coherent vision in my minds eye now.

I loved this novel, even if at the start he made some idiotic decisions to hide his strengh it was still bearable, but as time progressed the MC just seemed to turn into a different person, i mean the guy started off as a cold blooded assassin and was always logical and even though he followed his emotions at the start, he still thought everything through, he was also very pragmatic, but past the point where he got reincarnated it's like he dumbed down. He got progressivelly more emotional, more hot blooded, untill it was like the first part of the story and the whole character development that led to that point, just went 'poof' and he became a totally different person. What really dropped the ball for me was in Book 5 Chapter 51 where somehow a random expert discovered his disguise in front of the whole enemy sect because of his eyes, like wtf, is his disguise skill that have developt over 100s of years of hard work this garbage that a guy can literally look into your eyes and reveal who you are, you can't even have the argument that because he was a high level cultivator he had more acute sense thus it was easier to be found out, because he literally deceived much higher level experts before, he was even in front of the enemy sect's leader and he remained hidden just fine, the author gave some bullshit excuse because in the last chapter he killed the guys brother so because he saw his eyes back then he couldn't forget, utter BS of the highest degree, this guy literally killed more than half of the elders of the enemy's sect and the sect leadear coudn't see him throught the disguise, also his own soldiers from the army couldn't recognise him, anyway sorry for the rant, in conclusion this novel is shit, and if i were you i wouln't waste my time reading it.
