Chapter 257: The Dual Dancers

The battle continued its gory splendor as forces from all sides unite to face off against the menacing Flesh Mutators charging from the horizon, corpses littered the earth as flesh and tissue belonging to the Flesh Mutators rained down from the sky.

If it were any other time, most humans, even women, would have fallen susceptible to such a scene, screaming out in horror with pale and frightened expressions. Although, such times have long passed in this modern age, for every man and woman that fought did so with sharpness in their eyes, and a raging fire in their spirit.

One could now see many such individuals fighting with their very lives on the line, and amongst them, one can discern faces belonging to those who had grown of fame during the new age.

Bang! An explosion went off, which blew up not only a group of Flesh Mutators but also the very Ascenders who fought against them. Still, as if they didn't notice this, the battle continued in full splendor.

"Watch out. There's more coming from the right!"

A middle-aged man said he shielded a group from a giant Flesh Mutator, holding it off with everything he had; the group on the other side panicked as their hands were already busy with their foes.

The team of Flesh Mutators had looks of excitement on their faces as they swooped across the distance, hurrying to mow down the unorganized team, but right when all seemed lost, there was change.

"I call on your strength, soar high, my Blade Wing!"

A familiar voice said as a beauty with medium-length white hair, sporting a stylish medieval combat dress stood in a fairly crowded sector of the battlefield.

Paying close attention, one would notice that as she spoke, both of her arms were held before her, glowing with her Spirit Energy, which was used to invoke her special skill.

The crowd of Ascenders who struggled in their battles had wide-eyes when they saw the owner of the voice; a few couldn't help but exclaim.

"We're saved; it's the White Dancer of the Dual Dancers!"

"Huh? You mean that..."

One person was about to say something, but right before he could do so, a sharp cry drowned his voice.

"Kaw~."

It was a call much like that of an eagle's, followed by a large semi-transparent bird's appearance. It flew towards a few of the Flesh Mutators, with its wings spread wide, shimmering cold like the edges of any blade before it swept by them and sliced them into pieces.

As if provoked by this, a few of the Flesh Mutators nearby the young beauty roared as they charged towards her at incredible speeds, their figures blurring left and right not long after vanishing from their surroundings.

"Kreh!"

Two of the Flesh Mutators roared as they assaulted her from two different sides, arriving upon her in almost an instant. Yet, despite the dangerous predicament, the White Dancer looked at it with a calm look in her eyes.

With a light step, her body spun almost as if she were dancing, narrowly avoiding the blade-like arms of the Flesh Mutators that tried to tear through her flesh.

The remaining Flesh Mutators, which had attacked one fraction slower than the first two, soon arrived, striking at her unguarded vitals with cruel grins on their faces.

"That's not good, she's in trouble!"

"Watch out!"

The others who struggled to fight away their opponents shouted, but sadly, their strengths were evenly matched, not to mention being outnumbered, they could only look as the attack went on with concern.

However, regardless of everyone else, the White Dancer, having avoided the previous attacks by an inch, then clasped her palms together and spoke as if murmuring, "Lend me your power, Earth Barrier!"

With a bright flash of light from the ring on her finger, a bright earthen wall formed over the body, the Flesh Mutators that struck her jointly looked with fury and rage as their arms only crushed into bits of rock as it was already too late.

"Do it now!"

The White Dancer's voice sounded from behind the all-encompassing stone wall. Following her shout, a gust of chilly wind blew, masking the swift sounds of something rapidly moving within it.

In a few seconds, a series of bright yellow lines flashed across the area before they halted at a single location, forming into a pair of the golden daggers, held by a slender figure that wore fine armor with a dark reddish enchanted cape.

Instantly, a series of blood gushing sounds resounded as her attack severed the bodies of each Flesh Mutators into multiple limbs and organs that spread across the gory field.

She then tilted her head, staring behind her with her cold-looking round-shaped eyes having a sharpness like none other as she spoke, "You didn't have to say it; I already knew what to do, Nadia."

The earthen wall around Nadia's body soon crumbled as she dust away the dirt and replied, "Hehe, Susie, you really got to learn how to lighten up, just admit when you're wrong."

"Hmph! We're still in battle; let's focus," Susie said, not bothering to say anymore as she flashed into a group of monsters slicing away with her golden daggers, leaving a trail of chaos behind her.

'Always the same, she reminds me of that brother of mine. I wonder, where is he right now? Is he still safe?'

When Nadia pondered here, her eyes had a trace of worry when she recalled her brother Micheal, but not long after, she shook her head, clearing away such thoughts; she knew that this time wasn't the right moment for such kind of thoughts.

"Micheal, though silly and headstrong, isn't the kind to give up so easily, so I know that wherever you are, brother, you... you will be fine."

Following her light utterance, Nadia's body glowed once more with her radiant energies as she hurried towards the direction of Susie, unleashing her Blade Wing summon once more as the battle continued. Nearby this sector was another battle, but those who fought did so on an entirely different league…
