Chapter 255: Shameless Maximo |
What happened next was not something the three animals expected.
Maximo tried to hit her using his horns but Jellan was fast enough to evade it. She spun her body completely avoiding his horns and she even took the time to elbow him while her body was spinning.
Maximo's head shook from the impact, even making his head sway towards the opposite direction.
However, with his armor on, he did not get that much damage aside from feeling dizzy a little.
Jellam did not stop there as she immediately ignored Maximo and instead dashed towards the duo, Croco and Ogis.
She knew that the two were acting slyly and were trying to avoid a direct confrontation with her. She thought that they are more problematic than the carabao who wasn't that smart.
Seeing that, Ogis and Croco were immediately taken by surprise. Their plan on making Maximo as their guinea pig to test her strength failed and she was now coming to get them instead.
Croco was the first to react. He immediately turned his body around, slithering away from her. Unfortunately, Jellan was so fast that she still managed to appear right beside Croco just as he was about to complete his rotation.
Jellan grabbed his thigh while making sure that she wouldn't get stabbed by his spikes. She then pulled him forcefully before throwing him towards Ogis who just started to flap his wings to get away.
Boom!
Croco' snout struck Ogis' butt squarely. Feathers fell off Ogis' butt along with their body falling to the ground.
Jellan did not wait for them to get as she immediately dashed towards them, giving them each a beating while they were still down.
At this point, Maximo realized that he won't be able to defeat her no matter what he does.
Seeing that Jellan was still dealing with his two 'rivals', Maximo decided to sneakily escape the dangerous area.
Just like what his owner said, 'lower your pride and escape while you can, you can still have your revenge in the future…'
Maximo held his breath as he imitated Croco's assassination ways, making his presence negligible. Unfortunately, with his massive size, he would still be spotted regardless.
Jellan saw his actions at the corner of her eyes. He was tiptoeing with his hooves closely placed together. With his comical action, there's no way Jellam would not be able to spot him.
"Where do you think you're going?" She asked with a devilish smile.
Maximo's body immediately shivered upon hearing that. He immediately abandoned the thought of concealing his presence as he instantly dashed away from here.
Unfortunately, a sword was already flying towards his direction, or to be precise, the handle of the sword was already flying towards his face.
The sword's handle hit Maximo's neck, but with his armor, it did not manage to hurt him very much. Maximo just ignored it and proceeded to run forward.
However, Maximo immediately halted his steps when he heard what Jellan said next.
"Leave if you don't want to see Nile again…"
Hearing that, even Ogis and Croco who was just lying like a dead crocodile and bird earlier had their interest piqued. They stretched out their neck as they listened to what she was about to say next.
Jellan turned her head towards Ogis and Croco, and upon realizing their mistake, Croco and Ogis' head immediately fell down again along with both of their tongues stuck out as if they were dead.
Jellam clicked her tongue upon saying that and she immediately kicked each of their bodies as punishment.
"Stop pretending to be dead, I purposely held back my attacks. And besides, I know you guys have been with Nile for a long time so I know that you guys are stronger than mutated animals of the same level."
"Come on get up and follow me, I'll bring you to Nile." She said as she picked up the sword that she threw towards Maximo earlier.
Croco and Ogis stared at each other. They were trying to decide what they should do at this moment. They still weren't sure if what she said was true after all.
However, before the two of them could decide, Maximo had already started to approach Jellan with huge and confident strides. He then acted cute towards her, as if the matter earlier had never happened.
He wagged his tail left and right, just like a dog being excited to see its owner for the first time after a while of not seeing them.
He then lowered his body as if offering her a ride.
Jellam tilted her head due to his strange behavior. She wondered just what has happened to the world that animals could now act shamelessly just like that.
Nevertheless, she did not reject the offer as she hopped above his back. She made herself comfortable although the saddle and bridle were already quite worn than the last time Nile had used it.
She smiled thinking of the fact that Nile had used this seat before.
Maximo then got up as he stared at Croco and Ogis who was still playing dead. He stuck his tongue towards them, as if mocking them for their slow decision.
Maximo felt he was the smartest pet at this point as he was actually the first to accept Jellan. Unlike before, Maximo did not accept her due to her strength, the reason he accepted her quickly was mainly due to the 'Earring's' of Loyalty in her ring finger.
He spotted it earlier when she berated Croco and Ogis for playing dead. Maximo was taken aback but he suddenly recalled the familiar feeling that Jellan was giving off. He thought that the ring must be the source of it. The familiar feeling of being their owner's pet.
