Book 6: Chapter 68:2: Chen Heng: Allahu Akbar! Part 2

After patching himself up with a first aid kit and downing three bottles of energy drink, Chen Heng vaulted back inside through the window and ascended the nearby stairs to the rooftop.

With an AWM in his right hand and a grenade in his left, he began searching for King Arthur’s location.

“Excalibur!”

Well, there was no need to search any further. King Arthur’s position hadn’t changed, and Chen Heng couldn’t help but wonder how many bullets she had left. It seemed she hadn’t run out yet.

By crawling slowly along the rooftop, Chen Heng reached the edge. With a swift motion, he removed the safety pin from the grenade and tossed it toward King Arthur’s window, all while keeping his sniper rifle aimed at King Arthur.

Bang! Before the grenade even reached King Arthur, a single shot from Chen Heng’s sniper rifle knocked her down, followed by the explosion of the grenade at her feet.

The grenade immediately killed the downed King Arthur.

Observing the “2 players remaining” indicator in the interface, Chen Heng put away his rifle and, with a grenade in each hand, leaped from the rooftop.

Ignoring the fact that he was now at half health from fall damage, he sprinted a dozen meters, kicked open a door, and while ascending the stairs, used his teeth to remove the safety pins from the two grenades.

“Allahu Akbar!” With the safety pins removed, only six seconds remained before the grenades exploded. Chen Heng quickly reached the third floor, where he suspected Golden Glitter was hiding, and kicked open a door.

While Chen Heng couldn’t be certain if Golden Glitter was in this location, the odds were good. Chen Heng didn’t care if he died; after all, if he did die, it would be by his own hand.

“Oh damn!” Golden Glitter, hiding behind the door, knew that Chen Heng would make a desperate move, but he hadn’t expected Chen Heng to approach him with two grenades about to explode.

Golden Glitter raised his rifle, aiming at Chen Heng, hoping to kill him before the grenades detonated. However, Chen Heng had only 0.8 seconds left before he kicked the door. So…

Boom! Boom! In the end, Golden Glitter didn’t even manage to fire two shots before Chen Heng went down with him.

“Winner, winner, chicken dinner!”

If two players perished simultaneously, the one who threw the grenade would be declared the victor. That was the rule of this game.

------

“The winner of this round is the black side!” Jeanne d’Arc declared loudly from the referee’s stand.

“Oh! The black side is amazing!”

“The black side is the best!”

For some inexplicable reason, the black side’s once-empty spectator area was suddenly jam-packed with virtual avatars, all cheering enthusiastically for the black side’s victory, a taunt to the red side.

To this, Chen Heng could only think, You world consciousnesses sure have your ways of having fun.

“Well, now that the Holy Grail Carnival has held four of its seven matches and all four have been won by the black side, this means that this Holy Grail Carnival’s victory belongs to the black side.”

“Black side, please nominate a representative to receive the Holy Grail.”

“Holy Grail, huh?” In stark contrast to the jubilant atmosphere on the black side, the Masters and Servants on the red side wore solemn expressions.

“King of Heroes, will you retrieve the Holy Grail when it appears in the world?” Tohsaka Tokiomi asked Gilgamesh respectfully, as though he were a subject.

“Tohsaka Tokiomi, are you attempting to instruct me?” Gilgamesh, seated at the highest tier of the spectator stands, looked down at Tohsaka Tokiomi with a condescending gaze.

“I dare not. But if we do not take action soon, your treasure will fall into the hands of others.” A single glance from Gilgamesh increased the pressure on Tohsaka Tokiomi. Servants, especially ones like Gilgamesh, exuded an oppressive aura on ordinary people; even Magi were just slightly stronger ordinary individuals in their presence. Gilgamesh, as the most ancient king, had an air of authority that weighed heavily on Tohsaka Tokiomi.

“Humph! Tohsaka Tokiomi, don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking. You’re delusional if you think you can enter the Root using the Holy Grail. For the likes of you, even if I were to place the Root right in front of you, you wouldn’t recognize it.” Gilgamesh eyed Tohsaka Tokiomi, who feigned deference but harbored intentions of obtaining the Holy Grail and sacrificing Gilgamesh in the process. With a cold snort, Gilgamesh chose to ignore Tohsaka Tokiomi.

During the Holy Grail Carnival, the rules offered significant protection to both Masters and Servants, making it temporarily impossible for Gilgamesh to execute Tohsaka Tokiomi at his feet with a thousand cuts.

“Hah! Dreaming of entering the Root with something like the Holy Grail? There should be a limit to your delusions.” Kayneth, sitting nearby, overheard the conversation between Golden Glitter and Tohsaka Tokiomi and began to mock Tohsaka Tokiomi blatantly.

It wasn’t that Kayneth was ridiculing Tohsaka Tokiomi’s aspiration to enter the Root; after all, that was something all qualified Magi aspired to, even if they knew that entering the Root would cost their lives.

However, how could a place like Fuyuki City, a rural area, produce a method to enter the Root?

“King Gilgamesh, what did you mean by that?” Tohsaka Tokiomi ignored Kayneth’s taunts and focused his attention on Gilgamesh’s earlier words.

Gilgamesh didn’t respond to Tohsaka Tokiomi’s inquiry. Ever since the beginning of this Holy Grail Carnival, it had been a farce for the red side. It was nothing more than a boring game with no possibility of winning.

With the power of the Sha Naqba Imuru: The Omniscient Omnipotent Star, Gilgamesh had already perceived the truth. (Well, some of it.)

Putting aside the squabbles on the red side, the black side had already decided to let Chen Heng accept the award.

Chen Heng walked to the referee’s stand and received the Holy Grail from Jeanne d’Arc.

“He Who Knows Fate, well, I mean, Chen Heng, let me remind you once more. This Holy Grail contains the All the World’s Evils. To make use of the Holy Grail’s wishing function, you must first eliminate this All the World’s Evils from it.” After placing the Holy Grail, encased in a transparent bubble, in Chen Heng’s hands, Jeanne d’Arc couldn’t help but worriedly remind him once more.

“Don’t worry; I’ve already thought of a method to deal with the All the World’s Evils inside this Holy Grail.” There was nothing in this world that the Dimension Administrators Association’s store couldn’t solve. If there were, it meant he hadn’t spent enough points.

Of course, Chen Heng didn’t plan to spend many points on this Holy Grail. After all, it was just a larger crystal of condensed mana. He had already devised a perfect solution, and it wouldn’t cost him many points. Plus, he would gain several benefits in the process.

Chen Heng placed the Holy Grail, along with its protective bubble, in his spatial necklace. Now was not the time to deal with the All the World’s Evils from this Holy Grail War. He needed a quieter place to avoid interruptions.

Despite the Holy Grail’s protection of this venue, it was still crowded.

“All right, this Holy Grail Carnival has concluded successfully. Everyone, please leave the venue as soon as possible. This venue will cease to exist in ten minutes. If any of you are still here at that time, I won’t be responsible for what happens.”
