Although I have become a being that is neither undead nor human, I am still a man. Collapse

Normally not all novels don't have an ending I enjoy but this one does give me satisfaction of completing a novel. Also the MTL is surprisingly good, So give it a try. 4/5. No Romance or Harem, Pure Badassery. Although you can somewhat guess the twist.

This is the story of a gamer who get transmigrated into a game character "Dark Knight" a.k.a undead creature turned from a human knight with the power of night goddess. The story itself is basic shonen anime type with the same old demon invade human world and people fight against them troupe.

MC himself spend half his time nerfing himself by trying to be "human" like eating, sleeping, not taking human souls that he need for leveling up....hating every other undead and night creatures etc.etc.. The story is also boring with author recounting all the detail of his adventure like a simple mission wil takes tons of chatper that tells us about his roadtrip, sleeping in the inn, eating breakfast, another day at road, meeting town elder, strolling around the town's market...you get it. We get ALLLLLLLOOOOOT of these slice of life chapters that add nothing or very little to the story and move the plot at a snail pace or just stop it completely and go on tangent sometimes.

If you just want it as background noise while doing something then you can give this a try but i wont recommdend it as a binge read.

It's a good story. I think it's exactly what the author wanted, it wasn't made to be the best, but just a good story.

Although it's a cliché of a young man thrown into the world of his favorite game, it's incredibly simple and well done. The focus of the narrative is very much on relationships between the characters and philosophies about being a hero. The biggest emphasis in the story is the internal conflicts that Dale has to maintain his humanity, even though he is a Dark Knight (half human/half undead)

I like that the author didn't make the reading tiring at any point, there was no unnecessary filler and almost all the characters, including his enemies (from the weak to the strong) were important to the end. It had a good beginning, development and ending.

    It's a breath of fresh air. 4/5

It looks like the author is heavily inspired by Witcher. we have a an 'evil' mercenary. a princess. a tag-along. a priestess(simialr to the magician). what else did anyone else find?

I can see the similarity between him and Geralt.
They are out of the norm even for their professions and both seek to do good in their own way even if it isn't what they are meant to be or do.
What people say about them doesn't affect them that much.
They are both more or less annoyed how humans can be more inhuman than them but they have gotten used to it at some point.
They go out of their way to help people but always deny it as them proving something to themselves like the tsun they are...
But saying other characters are also inspired by it might be a stretch considering these kinds of characters are a good setting for a story like this.
But who knows maybe the author is a fan and took inspiration nonetheless.
