The translator for the later part of this is not very good...

This one is confused at what it wants to be, almost as if the author wanted to write a kingdom building, war, tactics, army, focused story -- that devolved into just another cultivation story.

The thing is, if you like the usual cultivation story then this one isn't for you because it's not the focus of this story. So even if you're fine with mediocre cultivation stories (which is normal since we tend to be forgiving with the genres we like) you only get half of what is already a mediocre work.

If you like kingdom building, it's the same, at around 1/3 of the story, it shifts from that into a mediocre cultivation story.

So you get 2 halves of a mediocre work and that doesn't really add up to a mediocre reading experience, more like, don't try since most likely you aren't one for a half-assed kingdom building and half-asssed cultivation?

Well that's my attempt to tell you where it went wrong anyway.
