Lu Wu, an aimless video game developer, had been feeling perturbed ever since he found out he was the direct descendant of a king from the underworld. Other than the title, His Excellency, his ancestor hadn’t passed down anything else to him. On top of that, all of his ancestor’s subordinates had rebelled against him and completely usurped his inherited territory.

Under the circumstances, Lu Wu built a battle game server with the help of his new mysterious friend and transported gamers from the real world straight to the underworld using virtual reality. They then created the main quest, the character classes, the Instance Dungeon, the storyline, and the non-player characters for the game.

Relying solely on these video gamers’ strengths, Lu Wu began his expedition to reclaim his rightful inheritance. What could possibly go wrong? Collapse

Gave it 50 chapters and proceeded to drop it. No idea what the other comments see in this story but it comes off as a bit trashy. Useless MC, often tells you something instead of showing, feels directionless and bland characters.

Useless MC - for the most part leaves all the work to his generic foodie loli and barely does any planning despite game developer being his profession. The loli even knows how games work despite being centuries old making the protagonist redundant.

Show don't tell - Somewhat self-explanatory, the novel often tells you something happened but not the process. I guess the most eggregious example is that apparently an NPC, Lu Mo, is beloved by the players but he only appears in like 3 chapters and literally only has dialogue in the same chapter that he dies.

Feels directionless - Most of the chapters I read could easily be swapped around because they don't really connect to each other and just power up the players in a generic fashion. Just feels like the author is simply throwing shit out without a specific plan.

As mentioned in other comments it has very good world building. Sadly I had to drop it at around chapter 200, the player system is too broken and offers no real challenge as there are no consequences for failure or death.

Amazing novel, sure, a couple parts are rough here and there, but overall, it could be The Legendary Mechanic's little brother, when it comes to quality.

World building is amazing, constantly introducing new, fresh characters that don't feel copy-pasted at all(imagine my surprise), along with a flourishing world of the underworld and its's various quirky inhabitants.

MC is well...mostly absent from the story, as the story mostly focuses on the stories of the Players and their chaotic mumbo-jumbo. Infact,
MC is kinda untalented, useless, except for a few executive decisions. But again, that is before you realize he actually used to be a
    .
So here he was, after many past events, ready to start anew. So, semi-pardoned for always relying on the loli for most things?

I have heard that the story has a bad ending, but those may be just rumours. But if those were true, it was probably because the Author rushed the ending(only a bit over 800 chapters). But who knows, this is just a speculation at this point, and in my mind, it will remain so, as I don't see a good TL-er translating this novel with the previous quality, at the very least.

Unfortunately, the new translation after 2 years of abandonment, it got a Translator, I think, and it is barely better than MTL, so...yeah it got butchered. But again, up to that point, 9/10 hands down.

It's a hidden gem, is what it is.

    Ciao.

      It's not the author's fault, it's the translator's fault.

It's a unique novel, but the MC does nothing. He just leeches of the loli. Also, they stopped translating 11 months ago.

Having read a good portion of the book, I agree with this statement. The author could have taken a spin of a loyal subordinate who tries to rebuild the King of Beiqi's kingdom and supporting his descendants but having the loli be the MC. I feel like Lu Wu is just there for show tbh.
