Chen Yu unexpectedly obtained a heavenly book, gaining the ability to peek into the secrets of the universe. As long as he helped others change their fate, he could gain the cultivation to become an immortal.

For this reason, Chen Yu started to live stream psychological counseling. In the live room, the viewers were all shocked.

"Is this what psychological counseling is like nowadays? Can they even know the past and future?"

"This isn't a psychologist. This is a master!"

"Dr. Chen, please accept me as your disciple."

As the live stream became popular, some people who didn't believe in it or just wanted to ride the trend joined in and contacted Chen Yu. As a result, they ended up in jail and even exposing long-standing difficult cases.

Being such a talented person, Chen Yu naturally caught the attention of higher-ups.

"I don't know the location of the murderer, but I can try to use criminal psychology to help analyze it."

"Number 5 Ping'an Street in the old city, the first room on the left."

"In another half an hour, he will wake up and commit another crime." Collapse

I actually quite liked this… And fair few comments below, are a bit disingenuous. Readers should give it a try for ten chaps or so, to get a feel for it at least.

The plot is that the MC gets a super divination/karma cultivation technique, and he farms his livestream for people to fix and get exp out of it essentially. He keeps calling himself a psychologist, but it’s an open secret and running joke that he clearly isn’t one. Everyone knows he is bullshitting, MC himself knows he isn’t doing more than bare paper-thin minimum to avoid being called magical. The story is basically structured like a series of short stories for every ‘patient’ and they’re actually all fairly unique. Quite a few plot twists and bits of comedy as well.

For the person complaining about patient-doctor confidentiality, they are clearly ignoring the premise/circumstances. Everyone who is asking for a ‘consultation’ knows what they are getting into, and if anyone is expecting any kind of privacy after asking for a consultation in front of tens of 1000s of people, they are retarded. So yes, the implied consent for lack of privacy is very obvious and MC isn’t tricking them or going behind their backs.

Another thing that is fairly surprising is that story isn’t strongly anti-LGBT. Usually Chinese stories bash LGBT stuff any chance they get. Here, it’s treated fairly maturely (for a Chinese story).

For the other person not liking the netizen aspect of the story, well I can also say I usually hate peanut galleries in Chinese novels. They’re used for really shitty word padding so I don’t blame them. Unfortunately this story is set up around a livestream, so netizen comments absolutely cannot be avoided. But this is something that should be fairly obvious going in and not something hidden afterall.

Overall, it’s a story with a decent premise, that is pretty good compared deluge of shit tier we are inundated with these days. Translation also quite good with no significant issues. It’s not a story with great depth or anything but good enough to read every now and then. I’m only at 90 chapters, and I can foresee it getting a bit repetitive later on though.

Incredibly unethical "psychiatrist" - reveals sensitive and personal information about callers on livestream. Massively cruel, and likely a psychopath, the novel is entertaining if you can get past the ridiculous premise.

Twas an amusing read but too much chatter from the netizens detracted from the story for me. I'm stopping at chapter 90, which is currently the latest release of this translated novel. It seems like a mix of cultivation novel, murder/paranormal mystery, and streaming or something. I won't say it's bad because I don't think it is. I just don't think it's my cup of tea mainly because of the first bit about too much chatter. It makes the story overly lengthy and filled with clutter and I don't like that in novels. I saw people complain about too much talking in other novels but this one definitely has too much of that. Not giving it a rating but I also won't be reading any more. Best wishes to people that continue reading but just a caution: Do not take his "psychological" stuff too seriously. They're not fully accurate.

This story works better if MC was a Face reader/palm reader/fortune teller sort of guy, rather than a psychologist. A profession which the author doesn't seem to know how it works, it's hard to read through all the BS the MC comes up with to explain how he knows a clients whole history with fake psychology teachings.

Using Mysticism/supernatural lore to explain his skills would had been more enjoyable rather than trying really hard to ignore the 'scientific evidence' bs.

Because of your comment, I almost didn't read this novel.

From what you say, I thought it would be a novel with an idiot MC who makes up incredibly stupid excuses and that everyone believes just because of the plot armor.

However, in the novel everyone knows that the MC has supernatural abilities, but they play along.

The MC knows that everyone knows he has real abilities, but he refuses to admit it. Everyone know that the MC has real abilities, but they pretend not to know, which I find quite funny. Especially when a new character appears and asks MC to read their fortune and everyone starts swearing about how science is the cure for everything and not believing in superstitions. Kekekeke.
