"Welcome to the 2nd Round of the Rating Game Tournament!" Grayfia announced and the crowd burst out in cheers. Even some spectators from the Church Faction started to cheer. Yesterday's break seems to have done quite good to the morale of Church Faction members.
In reality, the truth has finally come out and it was finally revealed why Hela had destroyed all the Churches in Europe. Now all the members of the Church Faction hated Touji Shidou and the other representatives of their Faction and nobody knew how the truth had come out.
"In the Second Round, there will be two brackets. Each bracket will have 9 Teams. Each Team will be facing the rest of the Teams in their bracket, so every Team will be participating in 8 Rating Games. The Matchups and the Rating Games will be selected Randomly by our system. Winning a Match will give your Team 1 Point and remember… Only 4 Teams will be qualifying from each bracket for the Third Round!!" Grayfia revealed and once again the crowd burst out in cheers.
"Now, let's see the brackets!" Grayfia said and she waved her hand towards the Magical Screens. Moments later, the names of the Teams in each bracket were revealed…

"We will be starting with bracket One, and after all the Games of the Rating Games of the bracket One are over, we will move onto the Rating Games of bracket Two" Grayfia explained and excited murmurs broke throughout the crowd of the spectators.
"As I have said in the beginning, the Matchups and the Rating Games will be selected Randomly, so without wasting any more time… let's see the Matchups and the Rating Games!" Grayfia announced and gestured her hand towards the Magical Screens…
The brackets disappeared from the screens and the names of the Kings in bracket One started to shuffle on the Screens. The shuffling finally stopped and the 1st Matchup and the variant of the Rating Game were revealed…
Lix Tetrax VS Kohana (Lightning Fast Game)
The Rating Game Field was also selected Randomly. Both teams appeared at the ends of a highway filled with abandoned cars. If you drop out of the sidelines then you would get eliminated. The Game took nearly 45 minutes to finish. Kohana and her Team members tried their best, but they were simply not a match for Lix Tetrax and his team.
Lix Tetrax won the first Match of the 2nd Round and with that, he earned himself one point…
"Phew! That was quite exciting. Let us move on to the next Match" Grayfia said and once again the names of the Teams in bracket One started to shuffle. After a few seconds, the shuffling finally stopped and the 2nd Matchup along with the variant of the Rating Game was revealed to everyone…
Xenovia Quarta VS Sona Sitri (Board Collapse)
As soon as the Matchup was revealed, Sona's eyes flashed in hidden glee. Xenovia Quarta was one of the easier opponents and Sona was really happy that her first match of the 2nd Round was against a hot-headed musclehead. Sona had met the girl when she came to Kuoh Town to retrieve the Holy Swords.
Board Collapse is a combat-centric variant of Rating Game, so Sona was already looking forward to the Game. Once again, the Game Field was going to be selected Randomly, so Grayfia asked them to wait in the Game Field and in thirty minutes they were going to be teleported into the arena.
"So, how are we going to do this? I mean should we go gung-ho or should we take the subtle route?" Reya Kusaka asked before Tsubaki could question Sona regarding her Game plan.
"It would be a complete waste to go gung-ho against someone like her. Don't get me wrong, I know that she can be dangerous, especially with her Excalibur Fragment, but all of you remember what Sensei said, don't you?" Sona asked and everyone nodded their heads.
"If you can't land a blow on your enemy then no matter what type of weapon you are using it is completely meaningless" It was Tomoe Meguri who decided to speak out the exact words Yachiru had said. Sona gave her a curt nod.
"Well… we are still Devils, so if we get scratched then we are done for, so don't get hit. Avoid her sword at any cost" Sona said in a no-nonsense tone. All the new members of her Peerage gulped loudly and then they nodded their heads in understanding. None of them wanted to mess up and end up losing the Game.
"Good… we will be using Jessica Lagerkvist's tactics, but unlike her, we won't be completely dependent on traps. We will overwhelm them with long-range attacks" Sona said and once again she glanced towards Xenovia Quarta and her Team.
Xenovia's Team was quite impressive and Sona would have preferred having more information, but unfortunately, Xenovia and her Team fucked up their Match in the last Round, but Sona was sure that she was going to win the match either way. It was arrogance or anything, she was simply confident in her own abilities.
"We need to keep the full extent of our abilities secret as long as possible. We still have Vali Lucifer and Griselda Quarta in our bracket. Dealing with the two of them is going to be a pain in the ass…" Sona grumbled with a grumpy look on her face. Those two Teams were the biggest threats and Sona was sure that she would have to reveal all of her cards to fight either of them.
"Well… that is the plan" Sona shrugged and decided to meditate while waiting for the Game to start…
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Game Field Xenovia Quarta was having a similar type of conversation with her Team. Xenovia knew that she couldn't give up this Match, unlike the last Match. She shuddered at the thought of what Hela might do if she tried to pull another stunt like the last time.
Recently the truth has come out… nobody had any idea how it happened. Vasco Strada had sworn in the name of God that he had not revealed anything to anyone even though he blamed them. Now that the truth was revealed, all the representatives of their Faction were being hated by their Faction.
Vasco had explained why everyone was blaming them. It was quite simple… even though it was Hela and Yachiru they couldn't blame them because they were insanely strong. Meanwhile, the representatives of the Church Factions were at least weaker than Hela and Yachiru. So, everyone was simply blaming the easier targets.
Xenovia released a sigh… "We will set up traps for them just like Jessica Lagerkvist had done and then we ambush them when they arrive at the centre" Xenovia's Queen revealed the plan and once again Xenovia released a sigh. Xenovia knew that she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but she was sure that it wasn't going to be that simple.
"Xenovia, you have met her before, right? What can you tell us about her?" One of Xenovia's Rooks asked.
Xenovia took a deep breath and decided to reveal everything she knew about Sona Sitri. "She is smart and quite strong. She is also quite adept in water Magic as she is a member of the Sitri Clan. Though, I don't know if she can use Ice Magic like the former Devil King Serafall Leviathan or not" Xenovia revealed and everyone around her nodded their heads in understanding.
Then all of a sudden Xenovia froze as she remembered a rumour mentioned in the reports. At that time, she didn't pay that much attention to a rumour, but she thought that it wouldn't hurt to discuss it with her Team members.
"There is also a rumour that Sona Sitri had defeated Walburga, the wielder of Incinerate Anthem on her own" Xenovia revealed and everyone around her froze and moments later, some of them started to laugh. It was a well-known fact that Walburga was probably dead since Hexennacht had gone missing, but nobody knew for sure if Walburga was dead or not.
There was a rumour going on that Sona Sitri had defeated Walburga. "Come on, Xenovia. That must be a joke. I could understand that Sona Sitri is a strong Devil and she could have defeated strong Witches, but Walburga? Walburga possessed the Incinerate Anthem, one of the three Holy Relics… a Devil would be dead if they came in contact with the Flames of Incinerate Anthem" Xenovia's Queen said while chuckling.
The other members of her Team also nodded in agreement. Xenovia simply decided to drop the matter since even she wasn't sure about the whole thing. It was a simple rumour, but rumours start from somewhere. Xenovia shook her head to clear her mind. She could no longer think about rumours. She had way more important things to think about…
