[Rating Game Field]
"Kaichou! I have located them!" Reya loudly explained when she finally located the Church Faction Team using their Sonar technique.
"How odd? They are coming straight at us…" Momo muttered with a confused look on her face.
Even though her voice was pretty low, Sona clearly heard her words even with the storm raging in the background. Tsubaki had used Magic to create a transparent barrier around the whole group so that they could communicate better.
"Is that so?" Sona muttered while rubbing her chin with a thoughtful look on her face. After a few seconds, an idea finally clicked inside her mind. "They might have a way to locate us… With how zealous the Holy Priests are, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a way of locating Devils" Sona concluded.
"Either way, we know that they are coming right as, so there is no point in trying to hide" Tsubasa Yura shrugged and Sona could only nod her head in agreement.
"So, what are we going to do? Set up an ambush?" Ibis asked and Sona shook her head.
"There is no way to set up an ambush if they really have a Devil locator or something like that" Sona said while shaking her head, but then she stopped and raised her hand. "But, there are only two ways of setting up an ambush in this setting…" Sona trailed off.
"One, we hide ourselves up in the sky, but with the storm raging, we wouldn't have any way of knowing if they did arrive beneath us" Sona pointed out after raising one finger. "Two, we submerge ourselves inside the swamp. That would be the best if we are really trying to set up an ambush" Sona revealed the second option and most of her Peerage members grimaced after hearing about the prospect of hiding inside the swamp.
"I don't know how they were able to locate us, but I am sure that they aren't our method or we would have noticed that. So, if they arrive here and find that we aren't here, then they are going to be at least bewildered" Sona explained and Tsubaki nodded her head in understanding.
"Or we go straight at them and smack them around" Tsubasa pointed out.
"We could also do what Tsubasa just suggested" Sona agreed with a smile. Waiting for the members of the Church Faction to arrive might be completely useless. This is the Board Collapse Game, so they needed to finish the Game quickly or they would lose by default.
"How long do you think we would be able to wait here?" Sona asked looking at Reya and Momo.
"Nearly half an hour if you are being safe… We could possibly push for two or three minutes more, but that is it" Momo said with a shrug.
"I see… And how long till they arrive?" Sona questioned curiously.
"It will take them somewhere around half an hour to arrive… They might arrive a few minutes earlier too" Reya guessed and Sona closed her eye and released a sigh.
"We attack them head-on. We can't wait for them here, especially with the Game Field collapsing" Sona said and all of her Peerage members nodded their heads…
Meanwhile, Xenovia and Team members were heading towards Sona and her Peerage Members at a steady pace. All of a sudden they froze when the Devil locator device started to beep loudly. Everyone turned completely serious in a moment.
"We are close" Xenovia snapped with a serious look on her face as she pulled out the Excalibur Destruction. The other members of her Team also pulled out their weapons.
Before the group could even react, several Magical attacks rained down on Xenovia and her Team members. Most of her Team members were able to defend themselves, but a couple of Pawns weren't fast enough to defend themselves, so they simply dissolved into white particles.
"Two Pawns of Xenovia Quarta have been eliminated" Grayfia's voice rang throughout the Game Field, but nobody had the time to pay any attention to the announcement.
"Hahh!" Tomoe Meguri exclaimed loudly as she lunged at Xenovia with her sword drawn. Xenovia shifted her body weight and brought her massive sword in front of herself to defend herself. Xenovia grunted as Tomoe's sword slammed on her Excalibur. She dropped to one of her knees unable to bear the force of the attack.
Xenovia grunted and used all of her power to swing her sword. Tomoe could have attacked again, but she decided ro retreat as she didn't want to get scratched by an Excalibur Fragment. Even a scratch would mean that she was out of the fight. Xenovia immediately sprung up to her feet and looked around only to find that all of her Team members were engaged in combat with the Devils.
"You shouldn't look away from your opponent!" Tomoe exclaimed as the once again appeared in front of Xenovia using her superior speed and slashed her sword diagonally.
Xenovia's eyes grew wide in surprise due to Tomoe's speed. The Knight Xenovia was fighting seemed to be way faster than anything their reports had suggested… Xenovia was barely able to defend herself by raising the hilt of her sword in the path of Tomoe's slash.
Once again, Xenovia grunted when Tomoe's sword connected with the hilt of her sword. Since this time the blow came from the side, Xenovia wasn't able to keep her footing and she was blown back a couple of meters, but thankfully she was able to regain her footing when she landed, and once again, Xenovia was surprised by the power Tomoe was able to put behind her blow.
"One Rook and One Bishop of Xenovia Quarta have been eliminated" Another announcement rang throughout the Game Field and this time, Xenovia did hear the announcement and head snapped towards the direction where her Knights and Bishops were fighting.
"Didn't I tell you not to look away from your opponents during a fight?" Tomoe snarled as she once again attacked Xenovia. The blue-haired King grimaced.
This time, Tomoe decided not to give her opponent a break, so she sent a flurry of slashes in Xenovia's direction. Due to the sheer size of her sword, Xenovia could only defend herself.
Excalibur Destruction wasn't something easy to move like the Excalibur Mimic or any of the other Excalibur Fragments for that matter. Xenovia was at least glad that the Excalibur Destruction was big enough to protect herself. It seemed that she needed to pull out the Durandal. She had returned Durandal to Vasco Strada, but he had returned the Durandal to her for the Rating Games.
Xenovia waved her hand and a hilt of a sword appeared right beside her out of thin air. Tomoe's eyes narrowed as she immediately recognized the sword by just watching the hilt. Tomoe was quite familiar with Durandal and Xenovia was seen using the said sword during the Kuoh Massacre, but even Tomoe simply couldn't get past the Excalibur Destruction without putting herself at risk.
Xenovia grabbed the hilt of Durandal, but her whole body bronze when chains of water wrapped around her body, completely immobilizing her body. Xenovia gave it her all, but she couldn't pull Durandal from the pocket dimension. The chains tightened around her body, making her flinch in pain.
"Two Knights, the last Bishop, the last Rook, and the Queen of Xenovia Quarta has been eliminated" Grayfia's voice rang throughout the Game Field and Xenovia's eyes grew wide with pure disbelief marring her face. She couldn't believe how quickly her Peerage members have been eliminated. They weren't the best the Church could provide, but they were surely above average.
They were at least strong enough to go toe to toe with Sona Sitri and her Peerage members according to the reports the Church had. Xenovia noticed that Tomoe was looking somewhere else instead of dealing the finishing blow. Even though her whole body was immobilized, she could still move her head, so Xenovia followed the girl's line of sight…
Slowly, Sona Sitri came into their sight. "Kaichou! I had it under control, you didn't need to interfere" Tomoe whined and Sona simply inclined her head.
"Yes, yes, sorry, but I want this Rating Game to be over with. I don't want to spend any more time in this muddy place" Sona said with a small smile on her face and after hearing Sona's words, Tomoe started to pout like a little girl.
"All the Pawns of Xenovia Quarta have been eliminated" Once again Grayfia's voice rang throughout the Game Field and this time, Xenovia didn't bother to hide her grimace. Xenovia expected that they might be defeated, but she never expected that they would be defeated in such an overwhelming manner.
"Go on… What are you waiting for?" Xenovia snarled in rage while staring at Sona. The expression on Sona's face didn't change in the slightest. She simply glanced at Tomoe and gave her a nod.
Tomoe didn't say anything and stabbed Xenovia. Tomoe's sword went right through Xenovia's stomach with ease. Xenovia spat out some blood as she slowly disappeared into white particles. Tomoe was extremely careful while stabbing Xenovia, as she didn't want to kill the blue-haired girl.
"Well, that takes care of it I suppose…" Sona muttered in an amused tone.
"Xenovia Quarta has been eliminated. Sona Sitri has won the Game" once again, Grayfia's voice rang throughout the Game Field…

A/N: I know that some of you are getting bored due to the Rating Games, but I really interested in the Arc so I am not going to rush this Arc and I am going it.
Even if I lose every last reader, I will still finish this Arc before moving on. If you are getting bored, then return in a month to see if I am done with the Arc or not.
I am not insulting anyone or anything, but I really want to write this Arc. Sometimes, side characters development is also nice to watch... I haven't seen any other fics go into the details of a Rating Game Tournament and developed the character of Sona Sitri in such a manner.
I am fan of Sona and I think she was extremely underrated in the canon just for the sake of Rias and Issei. Yes, I changed her character a lot, but nobody can't say with a guarantee that a person's personality won't change after they are trained in the hardcore mode...
