Sona found herself standing inside a massive dome-shaped Boss Room. Sona was never into video games, mangas or animes, but she did know what a Boss Room looked like. She was standing with her back facing towards an intricate throne while she was facing a massive pair of doors at the other end of the room.
The door opened with a loud bang and two figures entered the room… Sona immediately recognized Arthur Pendragon and Sha Wujing. She didn't have any information on this Sha Wujing, but she was a Bishop, so Sona guessed that the girl must be good with Magic. Sona couldn't help but smile.
'So, I am the Boss and they are the challengers? I like this setting' Sona mused in amusement inside her mind. She would have preferred if her powers were kept secret, but she was sure that people had started drawing conclusions. Her Piece value was 11 after all.
Arthur and Sha didn't say anything and kept walking until they reached the middle of the room. Sona inclined her head in acknowledgement and started to climb down the stairs. When Sona finally placed her foot on the floor, Arthur decided to speak up.
"So, you are the Boss of this room" It wasn't a question, it was a statement. Sona simply smiled and gave him a nod.
"That seems to be the setting, but don't worry, as much as I know, I don't hold any power over this room" Sona said with a small smile on her face and as soon as she finished speaking the massive doors leading to the Boss Room closed up with a loud bang.
Arthur gave her a disbelieving look. "I didn't do that" Sona shrugged dismissively. She didn't care if they believed her or not.
"Arthur Pendragon and Sha Wujing will be facing Sona Sitri. Now that both the parties are ready… Let's start the fight!!" Serafall's voice ran out through the Boss Room as soon as Serafall finished her announcement. Arthur pulled out the Excalibur Ruler and stabbed it on the floor.
After that, it was quite easy for Sona to deduce the Excalibur Fragment in possession of Arthur Pendragon is Excalibur Ruler. Excalibur Ruler had gone missing just after its creation, that is why it was not in the possession of the Church. Though Sona wondered what would have happened to Devils and Fallen Angels of the Excalibur Ruler was in the possession of the Orthodox Church.
Excalibur Ruler was the strongest among all the Excalibur Fragments. It was speculated that the Excalibur Ruler had the ability to manipulate living and non-living beings. The speculation was proven to be right when the floor started to move. Sona immediately knew that it was going to be hard to defeat Arthur, especially with the Excalibur Ruler in his possession.
Sona immediately jumped up in the air and several Magical Circles appeared around her body and she launched several water spears toward Arthur and Sha. Both of them knew that the attacks were coming as soon as Sona created those Magical Circles and they were already on the move.
Arthur pulled out the sword from the floor and rolled to the side, while Sha nimbly jumped back and waved her staff towards Sona. A water blade was released from Sha's staff, heading straight for Sona. The lone Devil grinned viciously and her eyes started to glow, the water blade was reflected back towards Sha.
Both Sha and Arthur were taken aback… They wondered how Sona did that, she didn't even use Magic to reflect the attack. Arthur could wonder later, but before that, he needed to save Sha. The Kappa Youkai was still in the air, so there was no way she could defend herself from the attack without sustaining any damage.
Once again, Arthur stabbed his sword on the floor and a wall rose up in front of Sha. The water blade collided against the war creating a massive gash. Two leathery bat wings popped behind Sona's back as she decided to float in the air for now since the floor was under Arthur's control. She suspected the Excalibur Ruler couldn't control air, or Arthur would have used the air to attack her.
This time Sona raised both of her hands and hundreds of Magical Circles appeared around Sona. Arthur and Sha gaped at the sight… They were completely gobsmacked by Sona's casual display of Magic. All of the Magic Circles flared at the same time and lighting bolts rained down on the arena.
Once again, Arthur used the Excalibur Ruler's power to raise a dome around him and Sha. The lightning bolts continued to rain down inside the Boss Room, completely obliterating the floor completely. Then all of a sudden Sona's senses flared and twisted her body to dodge a dodge. Sona's eyes grew wide as she noticed that there was a small portal right behind her hand and a sword blade was poking out of the portal.
Sona immediately flicked her hand towards the portal and she sent several water needles towards the portal, but unfortunately, the portal closed up before her needles could enter the portal. Sona wanted to groan in frustration. It seemed that Arthur Pendragon possessed another sword, a sword that was way more troublesome than Excalibur Ruler.
There was only one sword out there that could rip through space, the sword was known as Collbrande or Caliburn, it was also known as the Holy King Sword or the Sword in the Stone. Unlike the other Holy Swords, Caliburn was kept in the possession of the Pendragon Family and its Holy Aura was said to be surpassing the Holy Aura or the True Excalibur and Durandal.
Sona wasn't worried about the Holy Aura even though she was a Devil. She was a Devil, but she also possessed Holy Aura, so the Holy Aura of the strongest Holy Sword wasn't going to affect her, but that didn't mean that a stab wound wouldn't affect her. The difficulty of the Match went up several folds, Sona admitted that Arthur's Piece value wasn't a mistake.
This time, Sona realized that she could no longer hold back. She wasn't going to use her Sacred Gear but nothing was stopping her from using Water Magic and Ice Magic. Sona took a deep breath, and a massive Magical Circle appeared over her head. While Sona was pouring a lot of Magic into the Magical Circle, she was being quite careful about Caliburn. Her instincts were good and she was confident that could dodge again, but she was not going to give Arthur another opening.
Sona clasped her hands together and water and the giant Magical Circle flared, releasing tons of water inside the Boss Room. Once again Sona moved to her right to dodge another sword slash. Sona's Magic flared "Frozen Paradise" Sona muttered with a neutral look on her face and the water started to turn into solid ice from the middle.
"Sha Wujing has been eliminated" Grayfia's voice rang throughout the room. Moments later, a portal appeared near the throne and an injured Arthur Pendragon crawled out of the portal. Sona smiled softly as she started to float towards Arthur.
It was clear that the man was barely holding up. All of a sudden the ice pillar rose up. Excalibur Ruler could be seen stuck at the top of the ice pillar. The pillar stopped beside Sona. Arthur stared at Sona and the Excalibur Ruler with a complicated look on his face. Sona's last attack was very dangerous. Sha was eliminated in an instant and Arthur was only able to barely wither the attack with the help of Excalibur Ruler.
But even the powers of Excalibur Ruler wasn't enough to stop the power behind her attack. From the reports, Arthur knew that Sona wasn't supposed to be that strong… their information seemed to be extremely outdated. She was able to dodge his surprise attacks. He had to abandon Excalibur Ruler and use Caliburn to escape the protective dome he had created. Right now, Arthur could only warily eye the Excalibur Ruler.
He wondered what Sona was planning to do with the sword. 'She wouldn't be stupid enough to grab the sword, right?' Arthur asked himself in his mind. His eyes grew wide as Sona started to reach for the hilt of Excalibur Ruler. He couldn't believe his own eyes. It was said that Sona was extremely smart, but it seemed that their information was false.
If she was stupid enough to grab an Excalibur then she must be pretty stupid. Sona's fingers finally touched the hilt of the sword and her fingers slowly wrapped around the hilt of the sword. With a yank, she pulled out the sword from the Ice Pillar. Arthur gaped like a fish out of water, she should have started to burn as soon as she came in contact with an Excalibur Fragment and Excalibur Ruler was the strongest Excalibur Fragment.
Sona stared at the blade for a moment before she gave it a few experimental swings. "I am not a sword admirer, but I have to admit that this sword is pretty well balanced…" Sona said in an amused tone as she continued to swing around the Excalibur Fragment. Even though Sona said that she wasn't a sword person, she seemed to be quite good at handling a sword.
Sona finally stopped swinging the sword and looked at Arthur, who had a horrified look on his face. "Do you want to find out how good an Excalibur fares in the hand of a Devil?" Sona questioned with a huge grin on her face while her eyes started to glow in excitement…
