Chapter 170: Sudden Onslaught |
"Ugh... I was sent pretty far away again?"
A while ago, after Janine was punched on her back that caused her to be sent flying, the rolling she suffered this time was pretty far away. She really was just thankful that her body was strong.
Just who the heck attacked her all of a sudden? Janine was more than frustrated whenever she wondered who was that fool who hit her back. And amidst her frustration, only one individual entered her mind. And that was the man who sent her flying for the first time a while ago.
When Janine thought about it, her frustrations suddenly turned into anger. She didn't think much anymore as she wanted to rush back for revenge.
With that said, Janine bent her knees a little as her muscles had slightly gone bigger. Veins popped out on her knees before she disappeared with a swoosh.
While she was rushing back, and from afar, she caught sight of the man who attacked her earlier as she was now more than sure that this person was also the one who sneak attack her a little while ago. She didn't even notice that Jim and Ben were already been set free as only one thought was in her mind. And that was to have her revenge.
With that in mind, Janine increased her pacing as it didn't take long for her to finally reach her distance towards her target. Without bothering herself for useless warning, Janine delivered a deadly punch as he sent it right on the other party's face.
On the other hand, Bantay didn't even have a chance to turn his head to the incoming Janine as he would have just found himself already rolling on the ground
And on the other hand, Ben and Jim who saw this scene had their eyes widened in shock. Since they were too focused on other things, they too didn't see Janine coming.
"Oh? You two are already freed?" Meanwhile, Janine had just noticed the two beside her as she was surprised to see them that way. But then, three question marks appeared above her head as she asked, "Where's that girl?"
"Ah, that?" Ben had immediately recovered from his shock upon hearing the question. He then took a deep breath to calm himself down as he replied to Janine, "She's in the illusion world right now."
"What illusion world?"
"Hmph, don't play dumb. It's the place where we..." Ben who heard the response was just about to snort coldly when suddenly, he realized that the voice was not Janine's. Not only that, the voice didn't come in front of them of where Janine was standing but instead, from behind them.
In fact, Ben didn't even see Janine opening her mouth when he heard the voice.
Ben began to sweat. He didn't think much anymore as he suddenly disappeared out of thin air.
The same went for Jim who was just beside him. When Jim heard the reply, his eyes widened in shock. He too didn't think much as he too disappeared on sight only to be replaced by a red bee.
The two knew full well who had just spoken. And just by hearing that voice could really make them feel a chill. It had to be known that they didn't want to be caught once again.!
Who else could it be other than the girl who they thought that they sent in the illusion world? Just how in the world did she escape that place?
Meanwhile, as the two managed to run away, Janine who was still processing what was going on was caught off guard. Countless tiny hair struck her trying to entangle her from head to toe.
Janine tried to swing her hand just to force herself to cut off all the tiny hair trying to entangle her body only to find that those hairs were too many as her physical strength was not enough against it. That said, after a while, her body ended up being completely entangled. Her hands were now spread apart as she was even floating above the ground. What now? Just what the heck was this?
"Oh? The two are a fast runner?" Elaine appeared out of thin air as her voice echoed to the surroundings.
When Janine saw Elaine, she immediately narrowed her eyes towards the other party. But then, she could only agree with her when she said that those two fools were really good at running away. How could that two leave her alone? This was really frustrating.
Janine was just about to think on revenge against those two when suddenly, as if wind blades had shrouded her, all the tiny hairs were cut off. Janine then landed on the ground as she was finally been set free.
After which, a figure appeared beside Janine with a dagger being wielded by his hand. He was glaring at Elaine as he pointed the dagger against her.
"Just who the hell are you?" Who else could it be other than Ben?
Ben knew well that the illusion world created by Jim was a dangerous place. Even he himself didn't know if he could escape that place.
But this girl managed to escape from that place unscathed? Ben knew that she was probably one of the X-rank Hunters but never he thought that the other party would be this good.
"Hmmm... The bloodline of the Cosa Family is really amazing. Even my eyes almost failed to catch up in that speed." But instead of a reply, what Ben had received was a comment regarding his bloodline. The other party was even chuckling softly making Ben a bit angry.
"You are tired of living," Ben responded coldly. He had no more patience to talk with the other party anymore. At that moment, Ben just realized that girls these days were so damn annoying.
After which was said, a huge spear descended from the sky. It landed rapidly as it was targeting Elaine as its landing point.
"Let's back away a little," Ben warned Janine as he didn't wait for the other party's reply and then disappeared again.
"..." Janine didn't say a word as she shifted her gaze upwards. Her frustration towards Ben and Jim seemed to suddenly disappear as her attention was caught by the falling giant spear.
She could feel that that spear landing this time was way more ferocious compared to when Ben used it against her.
Even so, Janine was confident that she could still survive such an attack if it was meant for her.
The same might not be the case for this girl in front of her though.
In any case, Janine would not waste her energy just to receive such an attack that wasn't meant for her. That said, she backed away as she wanted to see what would that girl going to do. Would she escape? Or would she receive the attack? But seeing the other party now, Janine could feel that she would not run away from the attack.
"Wonderful!" Elaine opened her arms as she gazed at the spear descending from the sky. The spear was even burning in a fire as an incredible amount of Weapon Energy was unleashed trying to pierce everything around with the mere presence of that giant spear.
And this was something that Elaine was looking for. An overwhelming strength that could at least warm her up.
Ever since she was very little and learned how to use her mind, she remained undefeated. She was even having boredom for not meeting a worthy opponent that could rival her strength.
But now, she actually found one. No, it was not only one, there were actually three of them that could perhaps, put up a match against her. Elaine really wanted to fight them all. Even if they teamed up against her, she didn't care anymore. All she wanted now was to test her limits and use these people to get what she wanted.
So then, as the giant spear was getting nearer and nearer, Elaine only watched the spear come at her with her hand widely spread apart.
"Is this girl finally going insane? Or she has a strong body as strong as Janine?" Ben who was at a distance away, and was watching the lunatic girl from that distance, asked the person beside him. And that person was, of course, Jim Jabat.
"Let's see..." Jim replied calmly as he watched what was going to happen. He was just surprised seeing that that girl wasn't even planning on running away. Not only that, she was even receiving the attack with widely opened arms. Was this girl really that confident with her ability or did she really go insane?
In any case, they would know soon enough if this girl was really that capable or not after the attack of Ben finally landed at her.
The two watched the happening as they anticipated what would very likely happen next.
But then, within the next few moments, and even with the many guesses they come up with, not among any of those guesses was the same as what had just occurred. The two could only widen their eyes in extreme shock before they disappeared without further thought.
How could they not if the spear they were anticipating to land on that lunatic girl would just suddenly disappeared on their sight? Not only that, as the huge spear disappeared, they would just found it appearing again right above them. How the heck did things end up like this? The two could only curse in their heart as they tried their hardest to escape from this sudden onslaught.
