«There are no heroes. In life, the monsters win.»

In 2106, [Mayhem Online], a fully immersive VRMMO game, was released. Soon, it dominated the world’s economy when people could exchange the in-game currency with real-life currency and vice versa.

In the year 2107, Flynn Grey, a 22-year-old college dropout with an ambiguous history, joined in the fray of billions of people that had already started playing [Mayhem]. Hoping to uncover the game’s secret and earn a fortune, he spent months on adventures without fruitful results.

For better or worse, Shura, Flynn’s in-game character, ends up in a great Wyvern’s den, acquiring a hidden class and a monstrous race. Join him as he defeats his past and paves his way into becoming a true legend in both worlds.

//DreamNote//

This story features an unstable protagonist due to his mysterious past. He’s not evil, not righteous either, and would do anything he feels like doing.

Character development is a big part of the novel, so if the Protagonist seems annoying and idiotic at the start, bear with it as it gets better. His character and everything else is explained.

This story will feature his real and game life, although, for most parts, the focus would be on the game world.

He doesn’t start as a monster protagonist from the get-go. It’ll be shown in the story how and why he turns into a monster in the game [Chapter no. 20-35].

The story’s pacing would depend on the arcs, but I’ll try to keep it at the fast-mediums.

This story WILL have a harem, but the focus would be on the character-building more than the romance. Romance is going to form later and will be slow-paced. Collapse

The mc is annoying nd i don't know why he's wasting the metamorphosis skill that gave him the biggest boost till the 100 chapters plus he's getting involved in everything without properly finishing off most of the previous things. Author keeps stacking many events together without any conclusions.

      Legit take.

Well it depends on the current society.

For example , if you dropped a Second World kinda VR Game experience now , it would definitely influence the world economy but it wouldn't dominate it.

For domination you would need basically a post scarcity or close to one society. At that point resolving conflicts or proving greatness would be better to do so through that technology.

Another important requirement is the support of the majority of the governments or just political influencers.

Virtual Reality especially Deep Dive one has the potential to be a Second World. Another chance to be someone different , someone better , someone you chose to be. It would be weird if such a thing didn't dominate our society. Bonus points if that technology can improve your real life body (like better physique , mental strength or combat experience/instinct).

Ironic that the most simple one does not get used a lot in novels. Time dilation. In most novels it gets mentioned and thrown in a garbage bin and never heard of again.

Actually I have seen it being used as a chance to study using that. Though there are more important things to do there usually.

Basically any VRMMORPG game type novel has some form of time dilation.

      how?
think of the vr game itself as a high functioning accessible bank. The currency in game can be used in Tandem with rl; kind of like a universally accepted and trusted form of bitcoin.

especially when a VR world with absolute security, with no upper limit, stable and accessible, with out needing to worry much on exchange rates since something like this would stabilize economy.

If said vr game is also high functioning so ppl percieve the 2nd world 2x faster in game, Then it might be used to move not just the economy, but overall life faster with almost double the lifespan.

most of what i said is bull with no prior knowledge of economy but it certainky abswers "How"

By just making a VR game that's more interesting than the world.
Also need to have certain technologies (maybe even full automatisation) so that the people could do something different.
Living in game somewhat leads to less accidents (no car crashes, accidents like those). If there's good technologies, then might even be more economical.
There's already multiple jobs that don't really serve the point of human survival. There's lots in marketing, sports etc which somehow offer a lot for living expenses to many people (salary). It's a matter of where to live and promote activity.
It's like you could be able to get bonuses for just reading novels and commenting. Everything you do has some influence. Even if you usually don't do much, you still save that as some special mind-set which can bring out something more interesting to the others, who aren't into your routine. And the gaming is more social-oriented. The question is whether those above in hierarchy want to follow some special aims and ideals for humanity and how they tweak the system.

When they are right about what they explain, I like it tbh.

However, the authors that explain it but once you read it it's absolutely not what was described, this is annoying.

for me, it depends on execution. if they arent explaining like they need to patch a fault or retcon what was previously implied. Then i could acceot explainatiin if they are creative about it, like under the guise of history and lore developement that resulted in a certain direction.
