Chapter 993: Advantage |
Sylas shrugged his shoulder and let Lorien fall to the ground, cracking his neck to the side. He bent his knees, his quads flexing.
"What are you doing?! Don't you understand the gap between—?!"
BANG!
Sylas surged, his speed sharp and fast as he soared through the air. The aerial advantage the women thought they had vanished in an instant.
SHUU.
Yvette couldn't believe what she was seeing. Was Sylas really forcing her hand like this? All she had to do was…
The aura of an E-Grade descended onto Sylas, but it was a mistake that Yvette immediately regretted. Her control wasn't the best as her Will wasn't at a top-tier level.
Unlike with Rune control, Will didn't reset upon reaching a new level. However, what it did do was undergo a qualitative change.
An E-Grade Shaped Will was far superior to an F-Grade Shaped Will.
Due to this, her E-Grade aura spread out too far and impacted the few on her cloud and even those on the adjacent cloud.
The instant this happened, Sylas' reaction was far faster than hers.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
Taking the opportunity when their bodies were no longer under their control, Sylas shattered their heads in unison.
A dozen beauties fell from the skies at once, leaving no one but Yvette standing on her own cloud in shock.
What just happened? Why was E-Grade aura useless against Sylas?
No… there was no way Nyssa went so far for a mere boy toy. The only families that went so far were—.
It sank in for Yvette. Sylas was top three on the Titan Leaderboard. If he wasn't worthy of such treatment, then who was?
What Yvette didn't know was that unlike the others who relied on their ancestors and elders to help them kill those above in tier and unlock the Grade Slayer Title…
Sylas had done it all on his own.
BANG!
Spear and fist met in the air.
A rippling might spread out and Sylas' arm was snapped back. He flipped through the air, landing on the wind as though it was solid ground several meters back.
He looked at his knuckles.
'My hand is broken,' he thought to himself calmly.
With the Scorned Wraps, he was unlikely to run into a weapon that could pierce his hand. But that didn't mean the residual power wouldn't harm him.
She had easily overwhelmed his Constitution even while so heavily suppressed and with her E-Grade Aura being worthless. But…
'Her Strength is about 50% more than my already +100% Constitution. Easy enough to handle.'
Sylas clenched his fist as Yvette looked down at her spear blade in wonder. Had her spear dulled at some point unknown to her? What was happening here?
The next thing she saw was a flash of violet.
Sylas appeared before her once again and she subconsciously raised her spear once more. But this time, the result was far different.
Flying through the air, Yvette began to question so many things about life itself. Was this the gap between herself and Titans? Suppressed or not… just how was this possible?
She landed heavily on the ground, her heels skidding across the earth.
They were already far outside the city by this point, dirt roads and flat dusty plains as far as the eye could see was all that was here.
The scenes of various battles played out in the far-off distance, large armies clashing and vying for position. But Yvette didn't have the presence of mind to pay attention to them.
Sylas was coming.
At least he seemed like he would have been until he stopped in the skies high above her.
Yvette's eyes widened as she realized a problem. He was up too high.
She subconsciously tried to call her cloud back to her, but she realized the connection was cut off. No… it had been destroyed? When had Sylas destroyed her cloud? How was it even possible to?
The answer was quite simple. All Sylas had done was try to use it and the Scorned Wraps handled the rest. She was too busy flying through the air to even notice.
Now, she was pinned to the ground while Sylas raised a hand.
One bolt of emerald lightning after another began to form while [Unbridled Counter] took shape.
Yvette felt her Aether spinning wildly out of her control.
One of Sylas' palms faced the sky. He had realized by now that flight was a huge advantage. If he didn't make the most of it… wouldn't he be wasting his telekinesis?
Pa. Pa. Pa.
Lightning spears exploded into being. Runes swirled around them in a powerful tempest as Sylas' tail swayed from left to right.
He activated Semi-Fusion, a blackened poison seeping into his tail.
In truth, he had no confidence in facing off against Yvette so directly. But this time, he wouldn't have to.
SHU! SHU! SHU!
Spears began to descend from the skies.
Like an ant on a frying pan, Yvette hurriedly weaved and dodged, trying her best to form some distance and separate herself. But Sylas was simply relentless… and his Aether and telekinesis seemed completely endless.
Just how much Will could a single man possibly have?
**
Yvette lay on the ground, blood seeping out of her orifices and several limbs twisted in the wrong direction.
She had never felt so suffocated in her life… so unwilling.
Sylas still stood in the skies. An entire two hours later, one wouldn't think that he had broken a sweat in the slightest. In fact, from what Yvette could tell, he had only become stronger, the Runes he formed coming swifter and with added sharpness.
What were those Runes? Did they have 50 Foundations? 60? More? How else could they wound her body so easily?
And that poison… was it the reason her limbs were bent out of shape?
Had she really lost so terribly to an F-Grade warrior?
I wanted to say that while I focus on ending my novel, GAB, I'll be pausing bonus chapters for the time being. Though, don't worry, GA will still get daily chapters
