Chapter 252: Fetching the Others!

Hours passed in the blink of an eye and it was already morning. Nile still hasn't woken up yet while Jellan had already absorbed almost half of the zombie gel she used to heal herself yesterday.

Jellan opened her eyes slowly before she stretched her body to ease her stiff muscles. She looked around and saw that the kids were still sleeping. They slept on the available couches and some of them were just sharing one couch.

She counted all of them and figured that only Istan was missing. She did not find it strange as Istan said that he needs to go back to the Town Hall so that the other hybrids would not suspect anything.

Jellan observed Nile and his face was still as peaceful as it could be. If not for his peaceful breathing, she might have thought that he was already dead.

Jellan shook her head to get rid of the unnecessary thoughts. She packed some things including the swords that Nile gave her yesterday.

"Where are you going?" Jellan suddenly heard a weak voice from her back. She turned around and realized that it was actually Nalyn.

Nalyn's state was still the same. She was still as weak as ever as her wounds do not look like they will heal any time soon.

"I'll get some food for us! Although I can handle at most a week without eating and still feel energetic, the same thing could not be said for you guys, especially the young ones who haven't awakened yet. I'll also try to find some cure for you while I'm at it." Jellan answered calmly as if she already planned it in advance.

"But what about Nile? I thought you won't leave his side?" Nalyn said.

"I won't be away for more than an hour. And besides, you're here... and I expect you won't let the others disturbed Nile evolution right?" Jellan smiled back at her.

Nalyn nodded her head after seeing that Jellan had already decided this beforehand. "Yeah, leave it to me… Just come back sooner."

"I will… and I'll bring some strong friends while I'm at it." Jellan said as she waved her hand before going outside the ancient house.

Nalyn watched her figure fade away little by little. She released a sigh as she observed Nile who was still 'sleeping' peacefully.

"You're so lucky to have her!" She whispered in a mosquito voice as she leaned back again on the couch to relax her back.

Jellan wanted to go to the Blue Wave Faction's base first but she thought that if she went there, she won't be able to get back in time. Although the Town of Daan was the smallest town of Subo, it's size could still not be underestimated. Going from one place to the other will even take hours even with using cars as transportation means.

She only needs to search for food and medicinal plants for Nalyn to use, so she thought that she won't need to go back to the base just for that. After the apocalypse, animals and plants started to mutate one after another. They grew and bore fruit like crazy so there was no shortage of food or whatsoever as long as one wasn't lazy. And of course, if they are courageous enough to get out of their hole to search for the foods that were already available in the first place.

The only thing that one needs to be careful of while searching for fruits are the various effects that have come with them after mutating. For example, there are certain fruits that were edible before the apocalypse but had become poisonous after the mutation. Of course, the threats of zombies' hybrids, mutated animals and other humans attacking you while searching for fruit cannot be ignored as well.

That is why although the forest was abundant in fruits and other kinds of resources, it was also abundant in dangers that one should not ignore.

However, Jellan had the perfect solution for that. After she was bound to Nile by the System, she also instantly discovered its existence, and strangely enough, she does not have the ounce of feeling about trying to discover more about the System. Maybe it was due to the Earring's of Loyalty's effects, but nevertheless, even if it wasn't she would still respect Nile and not ask a single question about it.

Although what she knew was only limited, she knew that the System had the ability to inspect and see the details of fruits as well as other things. But Nile was still evolving and that only left her one option to consider.

His other pets.

Those pets are also bound to Nile, she guessed that they might have already accompanied him for days or even months so there's a high chance that they knew some fruits and other edible foods that Nile had gotten before.

Her mission this time was to search for those three animal pets and obtain their help in searching for food and guarding Nile.

She knew the general direction on where they went yesterday when Nile shooed them away. She only needs to follow it and search for them along the way.

Jellan was very alert all the time. She was not like NIle who had the assistance of his animal pets. She could not see anything aside from what her eyes provided her. And besides, even though the System had already healed her yesterday, not all of her injuries were healed, especially the deep ones and the new ones that she got after fighting her zombified father.

She was very careful on the path that she took, but she still stumbled upon a Level Two zombie. Fortunately, the Level Two zombie had itself occupied in its prey, a mutated animal. The zombie gobbled up its brain as if it was the best and the last delicacy remaining in the world.

Jellan does not want to waste her time watching the zombie feast on that brain so she immediately dashed towards it and attacked without any hesitation.
