In the age of superheroes, Miao Xiaomao was one of the mediocre commoners, who had no superpower. Xiaomao and his senior cat died in an accident. But when he came back to his sense again, Miao Xiaomao found himself regressing to the past.

Using his knowledge from the future, Xiaomao invested in the VRMMO game early to prepare for the new age - The Age of Superhuman and Cultivators. He would soon find himself integrating with his in-game character to awaken his superpower and become one of the superhumans.

What about his character's choice? A cat dad like him couldn't possibly play a normal game character!

    Alright, so this novel starts off great, and while not unique (regressor) its a fresh take. MC gets his early OP game character this go around, instead of being a useless gold farmer. The game story is also a fun twist on what we normally get. And that's the good parts.

    Unfortunately the MC who lived past 30 has 0 maturity. He blames a "thot" for everything that went wrong in his first life vowing to keep his virginity this time.

    It was somewhat really nice to read up to like ch. 150. The beginning was warm and interesting and there's quite some good in-game adventures and a bit of interesting "real-life" action. Yet now there's lots of gore and so-said dark theme, lots of PoVs from many uninteresting characters and overall not interesting.
    The MC starts to feel mediocre, no matter the talent (that's what you get for introducing the godlike characters and lots of seniors near the MC while wishing to promote their role, power and wisdom, - the MC feels lacking in every department that way). And he somewhat goes to being a side-character as of now (270 chapters - there's like a whole arc where MC just boringly trains someplace while the side-characters are taking the lead). Alike to the Cultivation Chat Room novel (I think it's spelled like that).
    It's worth to start reading, until you lose interest that is.
    P.S. there's quite some sexual themes, yet there's just a few of action, which is also described poorly. And mostly not at the MC's side so far (he tries to avoid relationships).

    The side-characters are somewhat plain, even though they have their own peculiarity. Quite some memes which were somewhat fun.

    Mc is so pathetic. Does he not realize that he’s just an incredibly weak pawn with no say in his life? He should focus fully on not being a pathetic weakling. He never changes even after everything he knows and has been through. I guess I shouldn’t take this novel seriously.

    Mc has many easy paths to power but treats his life as a joke.

    I am wondering why there are no cultivation novel which has dao of pain? The only constant in all chinese novel is the hero going through mind numbing pain. Pain is a constant even if they become an immortal. Any sentient creature can feel pain in one way or other. Pain is the only thing that defines a living thing. Any negative rmotion is a pain. Physical pain is pain, mentail pain is pain and spiritual injury is pain.

    I want an mc who is like a pain gourmet. He follows the dao of pain but he is bored of the regular ways of getting pain like getting stabbed or punched by. He travels around to experience unique pain that leaves a mark on his long memory.

      Pain just part of emotions and there are many novels with dao of emotions, not in mc's hand but still we have it.
      As you say "any sentient creature", so not sentient don't have pain. Only real difference between them is consciousness that process body reactions. So we can two way: pain is sence that body (physical, mental, soul or smt) cause or or pain is emotion they spirit cause. Choosing the way rely on main viewpoint of novel. If novel highly realistic we get dao of sense, if it more idealistic we get emotions.
      Other "no" to dao of pain is scale. Pain only mental attack or mental resist and it's cover very very little part of mental aspect. Pain won't injure anyone and definitely won't broke anything. Thow ice spike in pain user and they will die. If they won't die they have more effective power...

      Ofc it's about author and everything can be maked intresting but such lesser dao is lesser dao... Trying to expand it will make dao of pain some other dao in skin of pain.
