Zombie Sister Strategy尸姐攻略

I think the overall rating at the time of writing this review (3.6) is a bit low. I will recommend everybody who likes zombie/apocalypse stories to give this novel a shot. There are a lot of aspects of the genre that's pretty well done. Its also really not that bad reading from a female POV for people who aren't used to this. The female main character (FMC) is not like tr*sh tier FMC novels where the FMC loses all their brain cells when they meet the main male love interest because they are too handsome/cool/smart/attractive/etc. The FMC is clever and calculating and its a slow burn romance between her and the male love interest.

The author creates some interesting story lines that are not simply rinse and repeat webnovel fare. The plot is unique and interesting. The author creates characters that are also distinct and interesting in the beginning, it starts to get a little too much to keep track of by ch700 but early on its ok. The author tries hard to give each character some distinct traits to differentiate them.

There are two things to note when reading this novel, if you can get past these two points, its worth a read:

The FMC's cheat powers are way way too OP. She has a combination of super physical abilities such as speed and strength, invisibility, and the ability to teleport herself and other things she touches into a separate dimension. The result is that she is basically invincible verses other humans and zombies that have superpowers such as fire, water, lightning, etc. She can even avoid even lightning with her super speed. She can assassinate super strong characters using her invisibility which is flat out undetectable. She can also teleport enemies into her space, where their powers are weakened by 90% but she's at full power. Basically, she is never in any sort of danger in any situation. The author compensates by putting the suspense on her family and allies and putting them in danger and the FMC has to save them. This can get old and plot starts to get a bit stale later in the story.

The author has various schemes within the story in order to pad the word count. Also every minion level character, ally or enemy, has the magical ability to never understand anything the first time around. They will also repeat the exact same statement as a question. Sometimes minion #2 will even repeat the question. Then their leader will patiently explain it to them like they are children. Another scheme is that the FMC always has to explain her situation to new people she meets because she is unique, a zombie that looks human and can talk. When meeting every new character, there will be half a chapter dedicated to these character acting surprised that she can talk or that she is a zombie when they thought she was human. Then she will explain things to them. These filler strategies get repeated A LOT.

My take on this story is that its unique, the powers are unique, the FMC is pretty clever, the characters are unique and interesting.
The novel has a strong beginning as a zombie apocalypse novel. When you get tired of the filler schemes, don't hesitate to skip them, you will not lose out on anything important. Still worth a read for fans of the genre.
