At least try reading it further and then start judging it , you've barely read 20 chapters . Giving a review at this point of time just shows how bad of a judge you are . idk why people have rated this book so low when the writing and plot is so intriguing. Unlike the other novels where the other characters need to praise the mc to show how smart he is this novel truly shows that the mc is smart through his actions . Ik that the mc may come off as a pacifist a and some of the hardcore reverend insanity fanatics wouldn't like it one bit. But that's what makes the mc unique ,at least he has the means and brains. But try reading it and you would find that its not just the mc but most of the characters who are scheming and cunning. I honestly loved the novel till the end of the conflict with the Lampard guy and let me be honest that it got a little bit boring after that and I had to drop it later cuz of exams . But that doesn't change my opinion of the writing quality / translation quality of the book.

Yeah this novel isn’t for you, here’s a recommendation that you might like “Hail the king” & “Tales of the reincarnated lord”, anyway I can tell that you didn’t read much, “tortured?” Well I assume the author is setting the story as close to reality when it comes to human behaviour specially in a medieval era with magics. “strong characters?” You mean characters with actual intelligence and the leaders of countries, religion, armies? Are you used to angry gramps who only thinks of revenge to his grandson, but gets slapped? So yeah it’s not surprising if the MC who’s a child gets played by veterans. “drag the story?” then you mention “rushed?” pick one, and it’s called story progression, again are you used to sudden appearance of arrogant young masters every arc just to progress a novel? “Op magic?” you mean a possible curse with great responsibility and consequences?
This novel is a bit harder and sudden for you, I’ve been there, you’ll quickly realise that you want something more of better characters when you’re used to OP MCs.
