First Immortal of the Sword剑道第一仙

This has an anime that isn't half bad. The MC is quite calm, and pretty much acts his age. He likes his rocking chair and brings it everywhere.

Now the novel/anime begins with the MC deciding he wants to reincarnate because he simply cannot progress any further. He's hoping he can re-cultivate in a different way and progress past his block.

He's disappointed in his disciples who began fighting each other as soon as he was gone. Some story about old allies and old enemies crop up in his journey. The author is creating conflict for the MC by having him fix various injustices.

This novel I ended up dropping due to one of my least favorite things about novels, time skip. Like the MC vanishes for thousands of years to cultivate, but miraculously his harem is patiently waiting for them. That was pretty much the biggest problem for me, but if you can handle that, the book is pretty good otherwise.

Yes, young masters hot for beauties, like all in the genre. Yes, very occasional face slapping. Yes, some revenge upon his own clan in this life for pissing him off. Yes, a MC far more powerful than his current cultivation due to millenia of being the top of the world. Not as much egotistical posing as "Emperor's Domination" but equally knowledgable. MC generally makes very wise decisions and does not look for trouble. Acts his age.
