"That's a really stupid question! It's obviously because you were teaming up with Osborne before," Edgar Pierce replied, still completely oblivious of the fact that he had accidentally allowed Guild Leader Loki to pinpoint his exact location.
In the next moment, three arrows came whooshing down to where Edgar Pierce was standing.
"Shit!" Edgar Pierce quickly reacted after seeing the arrows coming at him. He raised his lance and started hitting the arrows with it.
Clang! Bang! Clang!
"Guild Leader Loki has probably already found out where you are right now because of your loud voice. So, don't remain standing there anymore and try to quickly catch up to me. Make sure to occasionally change your speed from fast to slow and vice versa to confuse him. And don't reply to any of his questions, because he's obviously fooling you!" Osborne informed Edgar Pierce.
"You think I don't know that?" Edgar Pierce silently muttered with a cunning look on his face. All this time, he was only pretending in order to fool Guild Leader Loki and make him believe that he had pinpointed his location when in truth, he was the one who was trying to pinpoint the latter's location. Why exactly he was doing that? Very simple, that's because he intends to launch a counterattack.
"What are you planning?" Osborne immediately felt intrigued by Edgar Pierce's response.
"I want to force him to explode this entire passageway before he covers it entirely with arrows embedded with Fireball spells," Edgar Pierce pointed to their front as he reminded Osborne, "Just continue moving slow that way so that he won't suspect that we are planning something. I will explain to you my plan along the way, alright?"
Contrary to Osborne's thoughts, Edgar Pierce started explaining to him his plan, "Think about it, if he covers this entire passageway with his arrows, we would only have one way left to escape, right?"
"Yes, and what about it?" Osborne naturally understood that. But do they have any other choice? If they stay at those locations where arrows had already landed, there's no telling for certain if Guild Leader Loki won't decide to blow that place up. By that time, they won't be able to escape. That was why they are moving towards the other exit.
"In that case, what if Guild Leader Loki had actually already planted some arrows at the entrance? And once we arrived there, he won't blow up our rear first, but instead towards the place we are going to. And since we are cornered by two sides, he would still be able to achieve his plan," Edgar Pierce speculated.
"But what if that's exactly what he wanted us to think?" Osborne expressed the contrary.
"That is indeed possible. But what if instead of going over there, we make another way out?" Edgar Pierce raised his arm as he added, "I can use Earth Burst spell to destroy one of the earth walls, and we use that path to escape?"
"Do you really think I haven't thought of that? The problem is, you are behind me, so it would take some time for me to turn around and walk through the earth wall you have destroyed," Osborne replied.
"What's the problem with that?" Edgar Pierce asked curiously.
"And who's going to say for sure that you won't cast another earth wall after going outside and trap me inside here?" Osborne rolled his eyes. He didn't forget to warn Edgar Pierce, "If you are thinking of doing that, then I'll make sure the both of us will stay right here,"
Edgar Pierce heaves a heavy sigh of helplessness and proposed another plan, "Then how about you let me walk before you, and then I'll destroy one of the earth walls in front so that you won't have to turn around to escape?"
"That's better. Then how about you quickly get over here and stop talking?" Osborne motioned his hand for Edgar Pierce to walk fast.
"Okay, okay, just slow down a little so that I can catch up," Edgar Pierce hastened in his footsteps.
"I am already slow," Osborne muttered. He's much bigger and taller compared to Edgar Pierce, that's why every step he took is going to be two or three steps wider than the latter.
With that being said, Edgar Pierce quickly caught up with Osborne. He crawled down in between the latter's legs in order to come to his front.
"I swear that I will never be able to forget that embarrassment for the rest of my life," Edgar Pierce expressed his frustration. After all, he had crawled under the groins of an Orc. An Elf like him, the epitome of perfection, crawled under an Orc. Just hearing how that's being described had already sent shivers to his spine due to how indecent it sounded.
"It was you who proposed this, so I hope you won't blame me whenever you think of this scene in the future, hahaha," Osborne said with a chuckle.
"As much as I don't want to, I don't have any choice but to hate you because it is your groins that I freaking crawled under," Edgar Pierce felt even more frustrated with the thought that he can't erase the image of Osborne's delighted and mocking look on his face while he is crawling under him.
"Let's set that aside for the moment while you go and quickly finish your job there," Osborne prompted.
"I am already close," Edgar Pierce put even more Mana in his Earth Burst spell in order to hasten the speed of it destroying the earth wall.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
With more Mana being added, the speed of the Earth Burst spell increases noticeably. To be more precise, it was destroying the earth wall twice the speed from before.
Boooom!
A cloud of dust exploded as soon as the earth wall was finally destroyed.
"Cough! Cough! Let's quickly get out of here!" Edgar Pierce exclaimed while coughing. With this thick cloud of dust, he could already guess that Guild Leader Loki could already see it from his location.
But contrary to what Edgar Pierce was expecting, the moment he stepped through the earth wall that he had just destroyed, he soon saw another earth wall blocking his way. This earth wall didn't appear just now but had seemed to have been here from all this time.
"Shit!" Edgar Pierce can't help swearing.
"Why?" Osborne asked while trying to take a peek at what was going on. As soon as he saw another earth wall blocking their path, his face instantly turned ugly. However, that wasn't even the worst part of it.
Observing the earth wall closely, Osborne and Edgar Pierce noticed a small red-colored Magic circle embedded on its surface area.
"What the…"
Without wasting any time, Osborne bolted towards the path that they initially took. After building up enough momentum with his speed, he slightly bend his knees while still running and exerted all of his strength onto his feet.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOOM!
A series of explosions sounded as all the Magic circles of the Fireball spells that Guild Leader Loki had embedded into multiple stuff exploded one after another.
Dozens of debris in all sorts of different sizes and shapes flew all over the stage and a cloud of dust mixed with a bit of black covered the location of the passageway that Guild Leader Loki had created.
The cloud of dust was so thick that it's impossible for anyone to see anything inside, especially all the spectators since they were watching through the light screens in front of them.
Whooooosh!
Leo quickly turned his attention to his left side as he saw a figure flying out of the cloud of smoke. He narrowed his eyes to make it stare closely at the figure that's currently falling right back to the floor of the stage.
"It seems like Osborne was able to escape my trap," Leo muttered to himself after he identified the person who had escaped.
Banggggg!
A loud explosion echoed through the stage as soon as Osborne landed on the floor. He huffed and puffed, trying to catch his breath, while his eyes were staring at Guild Leader Loki, extremely cautious of what the latter would do while he is left a bit defenseless for the moment.
"Rest assured, we will settle our fight later, after I see with my own eyes if Edgar Pierce has been eliminated or not," Leo motioned his hand for Osborne to calm down temporary since he's not quite certain yet whether he had really defeated Edgar Pierce with his trap.
Honestly, the earth wall that had blocked their path wasn't there from the start. He had only cast an Earth Wall spell after noticing that Osborne's head had stopped moving.
As to how he was able to determine the exact location of the earth wall that Edgar Pierce had destroyed, it was simply through those Earth Elementals who were fighting against the two Sword Mantises. They reported to him that one of the earth walls was starting to crumble as soon as they saw cracks appearing all over its body.
Before Edgar Pierce could destroy that specific earth wall, he swiftly cast an Earth Wall spell to block it in advance, while at the same time he embedded a Fireball spell on it.
That Fireball spell he had embedded on the earth wall was like a trigger that sent a signal to all the Fireballs spells he had embedded onto the arrows he had shot earlier ago to explode and blow up the entire passageway to smithereens.
