Lewis Griffith loved magic ever since he was little, dreaming of the day when he would awaken and become a great 'Mage'.

However, this dream is shattered upon the discovery that he was inept, unable to form a mana core, and ever utilize magic.

Still, due to his outstanding dedication to the art, he studied magic and developed countless theories and schools. His unique concept revolutionized magic in the world, making him one of the most renowned scholars in history.

Surprisingly, he reincarnates after several centuries have passed since his death, once again thrust into the world of magic.

Will his second time be different? Or will he be the same Magic theorist he was in the past? The tale of Jared Leonard, formerly known as the Great Sage of Magic, is just beginning. Collapse

I kept going though. He turned her down, obviously.

You should get back into it if you can, especially for the story.

I read up to ch. 530. The story and plot itself isn't bad at all; I just really hated the MC, especially when his backstory as Lewis was revealed.

    Maybe I'm too harsh in my opinion of Lewis and I'm not trying to say his wife didn't do anything wrong;

Idk. After reading that, the whole novel got really sour for me and I eventually lost interest and dropped it.

Karlia is back too, and he also resolved things with Emilia in that afterlife. Somewhat. I think things got really interesting after that depressing time.

Ok, if someone can clarify those for me, but there are 2 things that I don't get in this novel other than that it's 10/10.

    1. Jarred is high nobility why the f does his (duke)House hold not have any rep. I mean, after the prince, the students should be kissing his ass but I get the impression that the rank in class matters more which does not make sense. I mean for goodness sake they treated him like a commoner. If you come from a Duke house then even if you are trash they at least don't say any thing in front of your face.
    2. The diffrence between commons and nobility is not highlighted. The author tries to brings it to light a few times but that also has rank involved.
Granted I have only read to ch 276 but if this situation is clearified in rhe later arcs than please tell me.

From what I've read so far, Ainzlark is one of those academies where your noble status doesn't count for shit.
Even the prince was only recognized because of his talent. It's that meritocratic system
The issue is that by that standard, Jared ought to be a superstar, but due to the core bias, he is being discriminated against.

As for your second question, the difference in Ainzlark isn't properly expressed, cus... status doesn't really matter there in terms of nobility stuff.
I'd like to say it gets better in the outside world, but it really isn't the focus once the outside world is explored even more.
The author promised he would do more of world building and detailed exposition in the Part 2 of the Novel, which focuses more on Neron, so you can look forward to that

    This is VERY VERY okay.

it falls under "author who puts in effort but fails sometimes so the failure is felt much more" I think you've experienced something like this and why a lot of veteran trash readers like me prefer reading outright garbage since there's usually no hope involved in reading.

It has its highs and lows and at the least, worth checking out.

This is the review of the author, just to give new readers an idea of why there are many upset readers in the reviews and the explanation from the author on that.

    1. Chapters are very short
    2. MC is supposed to be a knowledgeable old man, but he acts like a kid.
    3. The academy arc was unnecessary. There are other ways he could have learnt about modern day magic
    4. The book lost alot of its charm after the first arc.
