This novel is a real disappointment, I started it thinking that it was going to be an old man showing his experience and his life's work but up to the point that I have read it has just been him learning and learning and it just feels like a normal mc and isn't anything unique. I don't recommend reading this novel if you're looking for a unique mc based on the synopsis.

I liked it, read everything only to have to wait months to years for each update, really ruined the the story cause I forgot what had happened in between chapters and had to reread it but at this point it's at the 760+ chapters range and it takes forever to reread when there's only a couple chapters left.

I personally think this is one of those novels where you just have to wait for it to be fully completed to enjoy it.

First translated story I read. 100 free chaps on WN before paywalled. Back in the day, as a fresh novitiate to the dao of selectively legal privateers, I simply gave up - forgetting the novel entirely but for the nostalgia of enjoyment.

Years later, I find it here. I try to continue where I left off, and found I couldn’t. This isn’t to say it’s a poorly written story, but it is to say that it’s rather basic, and while I remember really enjoying the crafting descriptions, the rest of the plot is boring and predictable.

Truly, it is best to never try and return to the nostalgic days of yore - it brings nought but disappointment.

The event tags tell almost nothing about the story

I just wanted to note that so far, the dialogue is really bad and unnatural. I really hope it doesn't stay like this for the whole novel.

I agree that the dialog is bad but the story makes up for it
