Chapter 774: Grand-finals part 7

Proofreader: M_W Miss Fierce

Osborne was completely taken aback after hearing Guild Leader Loki's condition. He was honestly not expecting that the latter would propose something that he was similarly thinking about. He thought that Guild Leader Loki's condition would be related to giving him the championship, albeit slightly different from before. After all, knowing how much he hates trouble, he'd most likely want to be crowned the champion while dealing with as little trouble as possible.

"Are you sure about your condition?" Osborne asked to confirm if Guild Leader Loki was really speaking the truth or if this was perhaps just one of his mischievous schemes.

"How about we make an Oath right here and now to prevent me from breaking anything and taking back my words?" Leo proposed so that Osborne would trust him. With how he had been acting until now, it's not strange for Osborne to be extremely cautious about anything he says.

"Okay!" Osborne didn't hesitate to accept. This was the best solution to solve their problem of his lack of trust in Guild Leader Loki.

With that being said, Leo and Osborne made an Oath with each other.

But any of that, Princess Tila had quickly cast an Isolation Magic spell to prevent anyone from hearing any of Leo and Osborne's words. That was because Leo had informed her that he didn't want anyone other than Osborne to know of his real name through the communicator. After all, he doesn't want to cause any trouble to the Lionheart Kingdom, especially after what he had done to the Naughty Elves Organization. There's no doubt that the Naughty Elves Organization would swear to take revenge after knowing about his real identity.

"I didn't expect that your real name wasn't Loki," Osborne felt shocked again after discovering another new thing about Guild Leader Loki, or should he call him Leo now.

"I hope you don't talk to anyone else about my name. Otherwise, I won't be able to guarantee whether the hidden force behind me won't flatten the Red Fist Guild to the ground or not," Leo didn't forget to warn Osborne.

Needless to say, that was just a lie. Even if he considers that the Lionheart Kingdom is now more powerful compared to the Red Fist Guild, it would still be next to impossible for them to destroy one of the major independent Guilds in the Emerald Tree Kingdom, as the Evergreen Royal Family would undoubtedly do their best to protect them since that would affect the overall strength of its entire Kingdom territory.

He was just using the line 'hidden force' to scare Osborne and prevent him from revealing his identity. Although, they had already considered not revealing his real identity to anyone else in the Oath that they have just made.

The main reason he took extra effort to protect his identity from being revealed by Osborne to anyone else was that he already knew there was a method to trick the Oath. If one method exists, then it is also possible for even more methods to have existed without their knowledge yet. Regardless of there actually being only one, it is still better to be safe than sorry. Otherwise, he would regret not doing this when he had the chance to do so.

"I understand, especially if I consider the fact that even the Evergreen Royal Family are doing their best to protect your real identity," Osborne nodded his head in understanding. He had already noticed that there is currently an Isolation Magic spell surrounding them, which simply implies that only the two of them and the caster can listen to all their conversation right now.

Leo didn't continue speaking and just left their conversation hanging in that part. He muttered to change the topic, "Now that we have finished signing the Oath, then how about we begin with our fight?"

"Same thought," Osborne agreed.

The moment Leo and Osborne announced the start of their fight, Princess Tila immediately canceled the Isolation Magic spell.

However, there was something that Leo had forgotten to consider despite how cautious he was. Though fortunately, it wasn't that serious. Well, it might even help him protect his identity even more.

"Does anyone here have any idea of what they were talking about just now?"

"I know how to read lips. Apparently, they were talking about Guild Leader Loki's real identity just now,"

"Eh? Then what were they saying?!"

"Guild Leader Loki threatened Osborne that if ever he reveals his identity to anyone else, he can't guarantee whether the force behind him won't destroy the Red First Guild,"

"So, the rumors were actually true! Guild Leader Loki indeed came from a really powerful force,"

"Wait, wait, wait! Did he say any sort of clue about what kind of force it was?"

"No. Guild Leader Loki and Osborne only talked briefly about it before Guild Leader Loki changed the topic,"

"That's too bad!"

"I really want to know what Guild Leader Loki's real identity is!"

"Me too! But, unfortunately, we can't. Anyways, let's pay attention to the match since they're about to start soon,"

Meanwhile, Leo and Osborne were now preparing themselves to start their fight. They move in a circle, with each of them walking towards the other side while at the same time paying close attention to their opponent.

At this moment, Leo hasn't fully prepared himself yet to become serious. He's still planning inside his mind on how he should execute it that won't make him end up losing the Battle Royal.

Honestly, it was way easier said than done. He wanted to become serious in his fight against Osborne, but the question is, how exactly could he do that?

Most people would only turn serious if ever their life was threatened or when they would lose something if they didn't treat something seriously. In his current situation, he lacks both of those. His life is not threatened, and neither would he lose something even if he doesn't win the Emerald Elven Battle Competition, considering that he can now ask the Evergreen Royal Family for a reward as he had prevented the worst from happening in the Victory Arena.

This was a real problem that he's currently facing.

"I thought you were going to be serious? Just how is this any different to how you usually fight until now," Osborne taunted, hoping that Guild Leader Loki would make the first move.

"Do you think it's easy to become serious?" Leo asked, which sounded a bit ridiculous. Of course, it is very easy to become serious. All it would take is for one to treat something seriously and not be casual about it. However, to treat his fight against Osborne seriously is real trouble since he has nothing to lose even if he lost the fight. What he needs is something that would motivate him, or perhaps a thing that would encourage him to become serious.

Needless to say, his problem wasn't something that people would generally face. This only happened because of his character. It had been etched in the very depths of his bone to dislike dealing with troublesome things. And what he is asking right now is precisely asking for trouble.

"Ha? Are you seriously unable to become serious?" Osborne felt a bit disbelief at what he had heard. He even doubts that maybe this was one of Leo's mischievous schemes. But looking at the latter's face, it really seemed to look like he was having trouble getting serious.

Osborne thought about it for a short moment before he quickly arrived at one possible reason Leo was facing such a problem. He concluded, "Leo has neither to lose nor to gain in our fight. So, knowing him, it is indeed highly likely for him to not be able to treat this fight seriously,"

"Since that's the case, how about I would make an effort to force him to become serious!" Osborne decided in his mind. He might not get a chance in the future to fight like this against Leo, considering his status. So, he should do his best to make this fight something he won't ever forget in his entire life.

Osborne thought, "It had always been you who forced other people to do your own bidding. But this time, it would be someone else… Me, who would make you do my own bidding,"

With that in mind, Osborne waited for a brief moment before suddenly lunging himself towards Leo.

Seeing the sudden action of Osborne, Leo was caught completely unprepared. He could only grab an inferior shield from his Storage Ring to block Osborne's attack.

Banggg! Booooom!

A loud explosion echoed as Osborne's sword easily broke Leo's shield.

It made Leo retreat a few meters to the rear as he could not hold the force that Osborne had exerted in his attack.

With Leo's thin figure that's almost comparable to those of Elf's, it is only natural for him to lose in a competition of strength to an Orc like Osborne.

"How weak!" Osborne taunted before lunging himself once again towards Leo. Upon arriving in front of him, he kicked the latter's shield, causing him to retreat a few meters to the rear once again.
