    To me this is a decent novel, not top-tier, just decent. This story will definitely rub some people the wrong way though. I'm fine with mtl so the his/her mix up that happens doesn't really affect me. Also the novel sometimes just seems like a mish mash of all the popular mage/sorcerer novels. I dont really care about all of that🤷‍♂️. I'm just a REALLY big fan of cautious/cold protagonists. So finding a novel with an immortal mc who's very cautious and whose first priority is power and not love is enough to make me quite happy.

    People say this is not typical xianxia crap but here is a direct quote from one of the chain villain arc

      great, i hate the mc there but like the setup. hopefully this ones better?

      - After reading the first few chapters im already tanking name mixes, genderbending grammar, while reading through a very worn cliche. I dont think this half as5 job of plot farming and word extention text is for me. also remove european ambience from tag, their behaviour is uniquely chinese.

      I mean normal ppl wont bother somone reading their book fast or care if they keep flipping pages in a library as long as theyre quiet. However in all; mustve been 5 cn novels in the same scenario, either a young master, elder, pretty lady etc, they would bust in asking wtf you fooling around gtfo.
      Or has a strong need to announce the degree of unbelief they had on mcs page flipping, seriously even librarians are less concerned.
